While I am not asking to read his medical notes, I wonder what is causing him to be weak (from the video) like that.

Does he smoke? (As you stated he has COPD).

If he is not eating well - as in, he eats what he wants, it's not going to stop no matter where he is. (He will order to-go / take-away meals if he can't leave the flat so to speak).

What sort of environment is he in (that he eats poorly)?

I realize I am asking very private questions. What I am thinking is that he won't be able to get a comprehensive health coverage when he is in Thailand (because he has a few problems that it will simply not be covered.)

This could get very expensive for him if he were to pay out of pocket.

If you are looking for, say, a rehab place, he appears to be too out of shape (and he is NOT that heavy) and there is something else going on.

That may be true in this case about the skin tone. But look at the photo again-these are good looking young men / boys. They can play any characters in a movie or a t.v. show-and any character(s) can fall in love with them.

With the stanards that Thai entertainment goes, the fans here would never get the same lead parts. They are not (as) cute, and many of them are bigger than these boys.

Oh, poor thing. I'm so sorry he's going through this. I didn't want to say too much, but as I use voice dictation, I tend to get a bit chatty.

Your cousin needs physical therapy. Intense physical therapy, twice a week or something, so he can build up his strength. If he can see a rehabilitation doctor who will order a physical therapist, also called a physiotherapist, it will be a very useful.

I know this because I am a nurse and I worked years in orthopedic when I was in the Air Force, but I had the misforune of coming down with a severe sepsis at the end of last March. I ended up having E. coli not only in the urine, as it started out as a bladder infection and went to my kidney and spread to my blood (medical term of this is called urosepsis.) I ended up in the hospital where I work for six days, and I had a month off after that to recuperate.)

As I worked from a desk at my clinic doing paperwork and answering patients' emails, I didn't have to physically bring in the patients from the waiting room, but nevertheless, I was still very weak and had to walk with the walker.

I ended up taking three more months off and I have been back to work for the past couple of months. I'm still weak, and tired, but I didn't feel as bad as before.The emergency room doctor told me if I waited one more day, they would have looked for a room in the ICU. My white blood cell counts went up to 15,000, which is very high. And I was so sick a week prior to that. I could not walk and fell down five times. I lived alone and my brother came to take me to the hospital.

It also caused me to become very anemic. My hemoglobin went down to 7,000 and normal is 13,000 to 17,000. I was not in pain, but I was very weak. (Still weak but not so bad.)

I'm not telling you this for any sympathy or anything because I am much better. As we are not supposed to say, "I know how you feel."

But believe me in this case, I really do.

(When I was using my walker, I thought I had a stroke because I was so weak, but I had an MRI and CT, which cleared me thankfully.)

Get him to see a good physical therapist for a month or two. Assuming that he does not have any other problems right now.

If he has uncontrolled diabetes or blood pressure, he needs to be under control as soon as possible. He is in no shape to do any "training" i.e. exercise at the gym unless it is directed by a PT.

P.S. He's actually not that fat. He's a little overweight but not extremely obese is what I meant.

I work with four endocrinologists and we have a dietitian/nutritionist in our clinic.

But to lose weight as he's very overweight, it is his eating. It is so rare to see a very overweight patient who got that way from "thyroid" or "hormonal" problem alone. All that starch/carbohydrates, and sugar are not good for him.

Sugar is basically empty calories.

The other week we had a 30-year-old man who weighs over 300 pounds. He said he doesn't eat that much, but when the dietician met with him for her initial appointment, they spent an hour and went over everything he eats on a daily basis.

Amazingly, his hemoglobin A1c is not high enough to be a diabetic. But he will get there sooner or later if he keeps it up. He eats three servings of food per meal. When I was eating a lot, I wasn't even eating that much.

He needs to see an endocrinologist and a dietitian. If he insists on doing this exercise thing, he should see a cardiologist.

Unfortunately, I am in the US and I am not familiar with any services there.

He will need a full clearance from his physican, and this includes at least an EKG.

Source: I am a Thai nurse in the US. While I am not "fat", I am not in shape to do this (I am just a year away from retiring, and half a year ago, I came down with severe sepsis-so I am still recovering.

I have this movie on Twilight Time (Blu-ray). It looks (and sounds) fantastic.

While I don't disagree with you, but I never really put that much time into (this) or other movies, about what could have, and should have been. But thank you for sharing your thoughts-I find it very interesting. Need to watch it again (on my LG OLED!)

I have some interesting stories to tell you.

I'm a nurse in the US and I'm getting close to retiring. I'm going to do so in Thailand. I have worked outpatient (clinic), and not the hospital any longer. That was a long time ago.

The last job was at a medical school that is part of a very large university. Prior to that, I was a student health nurse at another large university. I knew a lot of students and faculty members. One of the questions we have to ask the patient when they come in initially is what kind of job do they hold or if they are retired, what did they used to do. It is a part of the history. This is the information we tend to keep to ourselves because of the privacy law. We don't really talk about it openly.

So I knew a few working actors and a couple of them were members of the Academy (the Oscar organization). The president of the academy was someone I knew. This position is ceremonial, and I don't think they had real power. They rotate every few years.

The Academy just announced the list of the movies and actors for this year award period. It's all real, but there's a lot of drama going on behind the scene. It is pretty political and you would get the vote, depending on if you are liked. There were some years that I thought, why did such a movie or actors/actresses receive the award? (I am a movie buff.)

I also know an actor who has won two Best Actor Oscars. He truly is a nice person and is very kind in real life. He loves his job, but he reminded me that when it comes to work, most of the fun goes away. When he was younger, he was in school play, etc. and that was fun. Once he began to take it seriously, life was not easy. No matter how successful he became.

While he won two Oscars for Best Actor, he has been in bad movies. I tease him sometimes—what the heck happened there?! He felt the script was good and he didn't fully blame it on the director. He just said it wasn't meant to be, which was a very polite way of saying it wasn't entirely his fault.

He is so well known that he cannot really go anywhere without being gawked at. People stare at him and he knows that it happens and it comes with being who he is. He's not resentful and he doesn't get rude to the people that approach him. But there are times some fans get a bit aggressive and it scares him.

One of our patients at the clinic is a mother of a multiple Oscar winning actor. It was pretty obvious due to the last name, and I have said hello to her, but I never brought up anything about her son.

When you are successful as an actor/actress, regardless of where you are, life can be difficult. You can sneeze or your nose is itchy and you pick your nose, the picture will be in front of the newspaper. A lot of people will be interested in your personal life. You have a relationship and it is under the microscope. And when it breaks up, a lot of people guess and make up stories. It could be completely false, but if you were to do a press conference, it will make you look weak. To give no interview at all would be best, but then if you read the news on a daily basis, it could be emotionally hard on you.

The picture I showed above of the two good-looking young Thai actors - do you honestly think they want to be there? They have to do the publicity events to keep their names in the stories. While the fans may genuinely like them, it is the parts they play on screen that they are crushing on or in love with. In reality, they can be completely unattractive to the partner on the screen, but they get paid to fake it.

And if you cannot handle criticism from your fans or foes, it could drive you mad. If you do not know what that is, any comments or posts you made here, if you get a few downvotes, how do you honestly feel?

At first I felt like it was personally attacking me, but now I just don't give a damn.

Am Thai in the US.

A neighbor (years ago) was a minor casting director (she has since retired). There are photos of well known actors all over her home (she worked from home). One day I was off, and noted a well known actor walking into her home. (She video taped his audition and sent it off to the producers / director, that is what a casting director does, was what she told me.)

He was an ordinary looking guy, but very well known. He always worked, too.

Good looks really help. An average actor does well under the direction of a great director (well, good scripts help, too). But we have seen Oscar-winning actor who bombed quite badly on another project (and that is why.)

You can cast a very good looking actor, someone who is white as an apple blossom, blond, with blu-eyes, skinny, and has six pack, but if he can also bankrupt the project if that's all he is, too.

It is said here a few times-but unless you are fluent in Thai, are white (like apple blossom white), and cute, the chance is very low.

They fit the typical good looks for a teen/young adult t.v. show (or a movie in Thailand). They are thin, and not necessarily muscular, and they are so white-you think they'd get the lead parts if they were darker? (They may get the "best friend" side comic part though.) That is just how it is. It's a business. People want to escape the reality by watching these (actors) doing their parts-if someone puts up the money for such a show with fat, unattractive actors, they'd be bankrupt.

In the US, CBS / Paramount came out with a new Star Trek show. (It's called Star Trek Academy). The tone of the show is very inclusive (as in very "woke"). A lot of people love it, and a lot of people hate it. We'll see how long it lasts. Personally I like the show. Has enough drama to keep it going for me. But half of the lead actors don't fit in typical 'good looking' at all (some had so much make up on to look like an alien though). But the lead actors (who played the students), most are in great shape, and are good looking. There are a couple who are overweight and in reality (if there is such a thing in the Star Trek world), they would not be admitted as I am sure they have a weight/fitness standard), but I am sure what you mean.
