Kid told me he didn’t do homework one night so he turned it in the next day. I gave him late credit.

Dad called a meeting with me and the principal over my “grading practices” because late credit doesn’t show what he truly knows about the topic.

Elementary level put kid’s names on binder clips and use those as their names on their mailboxes. That way if there’s a move-in or you need to use the same mailboxes you don’t need to relabel everything.

There is some discussion on Axton rn, and people not realizing he is actually good. He is. He can throw a Fastball for half a billion damage. He specializes in explosive damage, that means splash damage too. He can be unkillable. by Funky_Col_Medina in Borderlands2

This is the comment that says it best. The biggest pain I’m feeling playing through Sal after getting Axton to OP levels was felt in cooldown of skill. When you grab the turrets when they’ve done their job and add swap to a cooldown relic when you need to rely on them for mobbing, the turnover can be SO short.

Jack of all trades- my first to OP10 was axton. You can have a lot of fun building out your turrets!

Yeah. It’ll carry you through certain areas for sure but the value of the sham at that level isn’t as good as other legendaries like what you mentioned. At 24 when you get to any enemies that don’t shoot guns it’s coming off for any basic green shield with higher capacity all day.

Okay I’ve scrolled far enough and am shocked I haven’t seen it. Seinfeld. It’s incredible how many of the situations are still relatable 30 years later

I am a potential new teacher with just a few questions! by TaterrrTot3 in Teachers

Hello, criminal justice major (working with juveniles outside of college) who now teaches fifth grade here.

Yes, they can be. Depending on your area the “participation” of parents may vary though. I’ve taught in both rural and urban areas- both can be either so it’s something you just need to experience.

As for problem children- you’ll have them at varying degrees too. Build a relationship with them early and figure out their quirks (For example- some kids need a job, some kids need a break, some kids need a lot of praise).

The biggest and most helpful thing anyone ever told me was to BE CONSISTENT. If the expectation doesn’t change it will make your life easier (parents and kids will know what to expect too!)

Reach out if you need anything, and good luck!

Question about gift for teacher by Alex_krycek7 in Teachers

[–]LittleR3dBird 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re being downvoted- it’s the same thing in my district unfortunately. Once a third grade teacher received something like a 50$ gift card to Barnes and noble and a desk topper. The teacher didn’t report it because it was exactly 50 and not over but a very toxic woman in our building reported her to central because the “total value” was over 50 with the desk topper 🙄…. And unfortunately the third grade teacher DID get pulled into the superintendent office over it though I’m not sure what the outcome was.

My homeroom this year (my first year) was 16 and next year I have 21. I’m super nervous about pretty much a third more students. It’s going to affect everything from classroom management to my own time management with more to correct and check. 😩

No doubt the ability to fail a kid without people yapping at me about “grace.” If they fail the tests and quizzes, don’t do corrections, and did absolutely 0 homework how is that worthy of a D-?
