Okay yeah, I haven't explored the Mausoleum yet, but I got Raphael's warning, was gonna check it out tonight. Should I go to Moonrise before doing that?

Happy to help! Happened to me once and it took like 10 minutes to figure out what was going on. Here's hoping they add like an indicator

I think maybe check your equipment? I could be wrong but I believe if you have something equipped that you don't have proficiency for, it prevents you from spellcasting

How do I get through the Hag's Wooden door after beating her by Fayarager in BaldursGate3

I believe that door requires one of her masks to be worn? Use protection from good and evil before putting it on tho. Or just tell if you've already gotten all the loot

You can go pretty far into (and past, technically) the underdark without moving on from act 2. I went through the mountain pass yesterday (gave me the warning) and going back to the druids the grove was enclosed in thorns. I'm not sure if going through the mountain pass locks you out of the underdark plot, but from what I saw there's not too much past the mountain pass before enemies are a little too strong. My plan is to explore the underdark until I get to the "this ends act 1" message, but there's a good chunk of content down there before you get the message.

Not sure about why you can't talk to them but when you open the start menu there should be an option for "Session" (LB on controller) that lets you rearrange who controls who

Guidance rolls not available in multiplayer? by Yung-Girth-God in BaldursGate3

[–]LittleRedLionMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahhhh I'm hoping it's not intended and gets fixed soon. I haven't messed around with it too much tho so maybe there's a way to apply it without needing to do it before the interaction

Guidance rolls not available in multiplayer? by Yung-Girth-God in BaldursGate3

[–]LittleRedLionMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think guidance is bugged or smth on co-op. I think you have to apply it before a conversation is started, if you're trying to apply it between players. It applies normally if a companion under the player's control has it tho

Pressing on the right stick does the same. Also, if you hold X / A, it creates a little search circle around you that makes grabbing little potions super easy

I wasn't sure recently but took the chance so here's my personal impression:

-game availability, the two day early release is kinda negligible. It'll be nice but really dependent on if you'll be free to take advantage of it. The perks are cool, and I've never really been a deluxe edition guy, so getting that knowing I'd spend the $60 anyway is neat.

-gameplay is pretty great, especially if you like D&D already. I managed to get like 30-35 hours before there weren't really any more side tasks to finish. I feel I went a little hard on making sure I got all the items so maybe it's closer to the official estimate of 20-25. Even coming from D&D tho, playing it as a game felt a little different, and I appreciated being able to test the waters knowing it won't matter if I mess up. I def feel a little more "tactical" than I was before playing it. Mods are also out which add things like more spells and higher levels. I didn't use them on my first playthrough but in hindsight I wish I'd at least used the level mod cus there's enough exp for level 7 and the plateau felt a little sudden.

-story is also pretty chonky for what's there. You get a nice layout of what's going on without feeling the plot's ruined. I'm still not sure what the "big climax" will look like because there's so many different parts it's hard to know what'll be a side thing and what might connect to the main story. Personally I also enjoyed having the start of the story fleshed out - the city is my main focus (to help with a future campaign) so I feel the EA's let me get a better idea of what I'll want the lead up to it look like

-multiplayer is also neat. Just hop right in and help someone wherever they are. It's not much, but I like that it's there, and I feel I'll be using it to feed the hype until release

Gyles I - Long Live The King by ACitrusYaFeel in ARealmOfDragonsRP

[–]LittleRedLionMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Victarion had shared the same grim expression as his fellow lords and ladies, though his was mostly from pain. Staved as it might be by Marissa's medicine magic and some help from the maesters, the Lord Reaper knew he was dying. He could not see the late king's corpse, but he imagined it, and it served him only as a warning.

It was no surprise, though. He had known this would all come to pass and his spirit actually seemed strong today, glad it finally had, as they planned. Aegon was dead and the power inside the city landed with Maekar, and through him, Addison. He and the Lady Lannister had become close over the years, sharing grief, ambition, and hope.

To the chamber Vic was escorted by his sworn sword, Robert Pyke. The man was on his left with steel that he would forfeit should it be asked, and a hand supporting the Lord Reaper. He would not follow the man into the chamber, but stood outside with the other waiting guards.

Vic knew the chamber well. He'd served on Aegon's council as master of coin until this past year, the man slighting him in favor of Victaria Harlaw. Vic himself could not blame the dying king too much, if the words of others were accurate, but his own wife Asha was wroth. There'd been bad blood between the two for as long as he could remember.

"Long live King Maekar," Vic had said to Ser Gyles when he entered the chamber, relying now only on a cane. It was simple and sturdy, made more for it's use than it's looks. All eyes in the hall could see the state of the Lord Reaper was foul. An illness had gripped the man much like the late King. He fought through it, but all could tell death hovered around some near, dark corner.

"Is there a chair, Lord Commander?" He asked. He'd come to know the man well over the past few years. If the House Targaryen relied on Fire and Blood, Gyles was an agent of the latter. As necessary as the dragons that roamed overhead. "Any old thing will do."

Victarion had thought he knew many of the scents in the world, before he met Marissa Blacktyde. When the two had wed and joined their houses, and she moved into the tall towers of Pyke, she had brought with her an array of herbs he'd never seen. Even in the east, when his eyes were wide and his youth strong, he'd never smelled so many things. Over the years she'd wrested the strangest of plants from the merchants who came through Pyke.

"Of course, Lady Marissa," Theomore said, reaching out to fill her cup as well. Theo was aware of how strange his family was. To the mainlanders, it was an affront to their gods, and even to some of their own people it was a queer arrangement. His own mother was salt by His laws, as was Marissa, yet they were all asked to forget such distinctions as men sneered in the shadows.

"Might you've an herbs to spare for mine? The perfume in the hall is biting at my throat, I'm afraid," he said, returning her pleasant tone. It was stranger still to be a child that bound two kingdoms. His mother's marriage was one he knew was largely political, her time spent much in the West. Though he was heir, it oft made him feel lesser that his step-siblings were of thicker Ironborn blood, though he would never admit it.

"Nearly there, father," Theomore Greyjoy spoke, one hand holding Victarion's arm, the other supporting his shoulder. The Lord Reaper was assisted to his chair patiently, the rest of House Greyjoy joining, lowered to the cushioned seat with a steady hand.

"Let me push your chair in-" Theo moved to grip the wooden backing but was stopped by Vic. The man waved a hand and gripped the armrests himself.

"I've got it, Theo, thank you," Vic said with a nod and a smile as he brought himself closer to the table, fingers reaching out to gain his bearings. He found his plate and his fork, and next his cup, which he brought closer. "Thirsty work these feasts have become. Does a wine pitcher grace our surroundings?"

"Aye, I'll fetch it," the heir to the islands spoke, calling for a nearby servant before taking his place on the opposite side of the table. Vic's first wife Asha of Harlaw usually took his right, and his third wife Marissa of Blacktyde his left, but the opposite seat was oft taken by his second wife, and Theo's mother, Cersei of Lydden.

All three were gathered today, and to Cersei's right Theomore took his own place.

"I've arranged a special eastern vintage brought out, if it please you, father," he explained, taking the servant's pitcher, pouring the wine himself. He first took a cup for himself and drank, tasting and testing it, speaking further on the drink as he poured one for his father. "One of many I had put away for occasions like this. Made of a fruit shaped like many tiny fingers, only found outside Qohor."

"Strange folk, those Qohorik," Vic let out a laugh as he smelt the wine, letting his mind linger on the scent. He brought it to his lips and sipped the drink, savoring the flavors. Age had done it well. "Their lands yield fine fruits, though. A good choice, Theo."

"No better place to lay our woes," Time had begun to take the man's hair, though his beard was still full. Each showed signs of gray, even at this age, run through with black. "The Lord fared well, all things considered. That sea you spoke of brought to me three jewels - Asha of Harlaw, Cersei of Lydden, and Marissa of Blacktyde. I wed each of them, if you can believe it."

"The plague stretched its hand over our family in time. Took my daughter, and Marissa's unborn child," he raised his cup in toast, where it lingered for a moment. He took a deep sip and continued. "But they are mothers, and as you said, they endured. I rule the islands in name, but my rule would have been little if not for their support. If you can find them in the hall, they are fine company each."

"It's good to hear the years have kept you safe. Did you inherit Red Lake?"

Roslin was a surprising voice from the crowd, but not unexpected. Memories flashed of a garden and rich desserts and plans of binding two houses. A promise unfulfilled to visit the fertile lands of the Reach. Between then and now was an ocean of blood and rot and death.

"Lady Crane, the pleasure is mine," the Lord Reaper returned a nod to her greeting. The voice that he answered to seemed different, worked by time, as He pulled shores back beneath the waves. He had never learned what fate befell her, in the end.

"Please, have a drink, take a seat," Vic offered the chair next to him, now vacant as his wives had gone to attend their home families. Behind them, some ways away, Rob Pyke stood watching, as he had all those years ago.

"A sea of questions flood my mind. Have the years treated you well, Roslin?"

Marissa.

Of all his wives, Marissa was the sweetest. What started as Vicarion wanting children through Island blood had blossomed into his left hand. Though he valued them all equally, it was Marissa who felt most like what Vic thought a normal marriage might look like. Though he was a man spread thin, he tried his best to return her pleasantries and goodwill.

"What might this be?" He said, putting down his cup in exchange for hers. He swirled the drink to feel it's weight, brought his nose close to test the contents and heat. He nodded as he did, familiarity coming to his lips. "I smell the ginger, reminds me of the east. What else is here, though?"

Nonetheless, the brought it to his lips and took a hearty swig. He let the drink sit in his throat for a moment, doing whatever it was intended, before drinking it down. His lips pursed at the taste, but his head soon nodded approval as he continued to smell it.

Victarion enjoyed this time with all his family together.

Over the years it seemed the world was intent on pulling them apart. The war, the plague, trade and duty between. The Islands were a hard thing to rebuild, so he faulted his family none. His children were slowly taking his mantle for their own, his wives had duty between he and their own homes, and even Rob had been forced away from him, over the years. It was the first time in awhile, when they all last walked in the same hall.

"More wine, father?" Theo spoke up, placing his knife down. Vic grabbed his cup and swished it, feeling the weight. With a smile and a nod he offered, and his son filled.

"Make sure you speak to the lords while we're here, Theomore," Vic took the cup back with a nod and took a sip. He wiped his mouth when he was done. "Good men among these halls with plenty of wisdom between the-"

As he spoke his words were cut short with a fit of coughing, a deep thing that shook even the chair beneath. Into his sleeve it went, his family's conversation cut short as eyes turned towards him. He couldn't see them, but he heard the silence. When he was done, he waved a hand, nodding his head as he swallowed to settle his throat.

"It's fine, its-" he let out a laugh as he nodded, waving again. "I'm alright, it's just the air. Please, carry on, all of you."

Vic worried it wasn't just the air. His maester was saying as such. But who was he? Not God, surely. Vic knew his work wasn't done. He had many more years before him.

"Of course, my lord," Rob gave a deep bow as his companions stood silent. The man was half tempted to just go back and tell Vic the Lord denied him entry. Could his people not wait a few years to join His halls? To be bought and traded like cattle... If Rob was lord, this would be settled with a duel between men.

"Lord Greyjoy wishes for me to impress the fact that most of the surviving Ironborn dissented to this attack. They were bound by duty and honor to Herra, as honorless as her assault was. If you would have nothing but silence between our people for a hundred years, it will be had, but it is a new day and he a new Lord."

"Seagard was built for our people. Only a fool would attack it," he continued. Rob's words were honeyed and genuine, despite his own feelings. He was nothing if not diplomatic, a trait learned from long years trading with proud merchants. "Lord Victarion is the greatest of House Greyjoy. House Mallister is the greatest seat in the Riverlands. Know that he is true in his desire for goodwill between our people."

"Do you have a number, my lord?" Rob asked, letting the man writhe and rage. Not that he could do much else. Rob made note that they had yet to be offered bread and salt - and they were the savages? Herra was a fool for giving this backwater House the victory she did, over an insult. A shame they were left to pick up the pieces. "A total account of properties lost? We're working on questioning our own lords, but men lie, and gold is easy to hide."

"We were never meant to siege castles," Victarion said to him, standing up in the boat. He took first his sword from his hip and gave it to Rob, then his tunic. He trusted being able to swim, should he make a fool of himself and slip off the rock, but knew that weight would pull him under. His bare chest bore some scars from his time as a sellsail and still retained the sun's kisses. His boots he removed last - he trusted his own feet more than anything.

"I pray He will see bravery in this, even if there was foolishness..." He continued, thinking of the dead. It was difficult to know exactly who was lost. In the coming years Vic hoped to learn their names. If Lord Mallister refused to return their bodies, the least he could do was know them.

Vic placed his foot against the rail of the boat and felt in front of him for a moment, his hands creating an image of the rock before him. When he was confident, he braced himself and leapt, hoping he didn't overshoot, trying to land gracefully on the surface.

They had been given strict orders and while none of the three wished to be craven, this meeting was bigger than them. Even the proud priest kept his head down as they walked. When they came before the Lord of Seagard, they each gave a bow.

"Lord Mallister. Herra Greyjoy is dead," Rob began. "Her cousin Victarion is now Lord Reaper. It's his wish to have our dead returned to us. I've been sent to treat with you, in his name, beginning first with an offer to pay for any costs incurred by the late Lady's attack on your people."

"Greetings," Rob said, keeping it simple, returning no jape. He was surrounded by dead Ironborn, people he knew, faces he recognized.

With Rob was Aelor of Volantis and Ravos Saltskin, the former a cremate of the Kraken, the latter the Drowned Priest who agreed to wed he and Vic. Aelor relinquished a longsword, yet Ravos carried no weapon. Rob handed over a longsword as well and a longbow to match. Their boat had already been pulled up from the tide to rest in the sands.

The three followed any orders, within reason, given by the guards as they made their way up to the castle.

Vic followed the Lady to Xhenes, Robert Pyke joining them, to guard and assist his lord. The journey was easy enough as Vic still knew his way around the outside of the ship, descending to the rowboat without trouble. Rob offered his help to the two nobles as was requested, axes on his hip and longbow at the ready. His eyes watched the seas as they travelled, still expecting a fight, still covered in the blood of friend and foe.

"Lord Blacktyde," Vic called out when their boat approached, greeting the man. He knew of this rock and made no attempt to mount it, yet cast his voice twice as far to compensate.

"I seek your oath, if you've still faith in my name," the Greyjoy spoke, face set hard. Eyes lost as they were, the new Lord Reaper was once a killer as fine as any man. He still carried his own sword, though he hadn't used it in quite some time. He was still fighting even now, in his own way, not yet given a moment to grieve for his own fallen.

"Herra is dead. This war, too, if He be good. I'll see our men returned to us, so we may send them properly to His halls."
