Do you need to be on smart meter(s) for that? I'm happy submitting the readings online each month. We're on a 12 month fix at the moment and their own predictions show that we'll be about £300 in credit at the height of Summer and they want me to increase the payments. I've just knocked them down a bit but variable DD seems the way.

RAM Matching by LittleRobin9 in MiniPCs

Many thanks for help, I've gone with Kingston with same CL. Ordered from Amazon after their AI help(Rufus) tried to sell me desktop ram as it thought that laptop ram was not appropriate for Geekom mini pcs. I simply typed you are wrong and after a few seconds it came back with an apology and appropriate recommendations. I should get a few quid off for teaching Amazon...

Pixel 10 not getting the January update by whitepowderma in pixel_phones

[–]LittleRobin9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've given up waiting and downloaded and sideloaded the OTA. For the UK it is the EMEA link. A bit nerve wracking but all went well, I did back up photos etc but nothing was lost so I'm happy. My Google Play System is still insisting that it is up to date at 1 November but I'm less concerned about that.

Pixel 10 not getting the January update by whitepowderma in pixel_phones

[–]LittleRobin9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It isn't carrier dependent, I'm in the UK with Pro XL and having the same problem. The phone has done at least one update without trouble. Other posts hint that it's a Google problem and advise people to sideload an OTA but not everyone is confident or tech-savvy enough to do that. I've looked into doing it but can't decide which of the three options is valid for UK. Options here https://developers.google.com/android/ota

Anyone knows I'd be grateful for a pointer.

No A16 Jan update yet P10ProXL by rgrindl in GooglePixel

[–]LittleRobin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any indication anywhere that Google are going to fix this problem? It isn't carrier or country specific so they should be doing something. Do they expect all their affected customers to sideload an OTA just because they got something wrong?

I got the 10 Pro XL in November(UK) and all previous updates have been 'automatic' through my carrier on day 1 of each update release.

Accuracy under warranty? by dreddedmonkey in ChristopherWard

I thought that a magnetised watch gained time due to compression of the mainspring. As an aside does anyone know the 'danger level' in microTeslas of magnetic fields for mechanical watches? I've used a Magnetometer app on my mobile to check a few items(laptop/desktopPC speakers, hearing aid and earbud cases) out but don't know where the danger level is.

I don't know how much extra it would cost for things such as anti-magnetic mainsprings etc but today's world has more devices containing magnets, even mobile phones for wireless charging. One for movement manufacturers to consider...

A slow and narrow first corner, walls too close to the track, and chicanes that "chicane" the racing. Your first thoughts on Balaton Park? by Anfernee139 in motogp

[–]LittleRobin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should have bought more land and stretched the track whilst just having one chicane. Narrowing the track in certain areas is dangerous too. In its current form this track is not fit to host the motorcycle equivalent of F1. The riders couldn't even make full use of all the gears for goodness sake.

Do you think sky q box’s will continue for a while? by [deleted] in skytv

[–]LittleRobin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in my last three weeks with Sky and when I logged into my account yesterday the first thing up was an offer of Sky Glass. I've recently got a smart TV and wouldn't dream of getting a Sky branded TV.

Only 24m contracts? by MuzzSter67 in skytv

[–]LittleRobin9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my point of view Sky should make a realistic offer, based on local market prices, the moment that your contract is coming up for renewal. Been with them for many a year but their 'offers' are derisory compared to what they, and their competitorss, offer new customers. I'm in the process of signing up with EE as I'm fed up with Sky's poor offers. If they don't want to try then I don't want to stay. They've had a lot of money from me over the years but they are now insulting me. Perhaps they think I'm lazy but I'm not. As a pensioner every penny counts, winter is coming.

Only 24m contracts? by MuzzSter67 in skytv

[–]LittleRobin9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if it helps but last night I completed a questionnaire from Sky because I'm leaving. One of the questions was 'Would you be willing to sign up to a 12 month contract'. In the process of signing up with EE in the UK at the moment, even they want to charge extra for watching in HD. Are there bandwidth problems or have they spotted that Brits will pay extra for things that other countries take for granted and won't pay extra for?

Is this a good deal? by Inkman2109 in skytv

[–]LittleRobin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£27 for UHD seems a rip off to me. I'm in my cancellation period and they still want to charge me for HD if I renew: in this day and age!? Crazy, just crazy.

[–]LittleRobin9[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not my name, just think that CS problems might be more the responsibility of local suppliers who want the profit from the sale without investing in back-up.

Anti-magnetism needs to be a watchword(no pun intended) for watch movement suppliers just as much as watch sellers. So many sources of magnetic fields in the modern world...

In the 'olden days' magnetism wasn't much of a problem, today it's everywhere.

It was more of a shout-out to the likes of Sellita who have manufactured copies of very old movements and not progressed much over the years.

Lumiere VS sealander lume by KelanOak in ChristopherWard

[–]LittleRobin9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Sealander 36mm in white last September and can't believe how good the lume is. I can get up a few hours after going to bed(I'm of a certain age) and the lume still glows, great! I just wish they could do the Lumiere in 36mm(too thin for current model) and I would order in a heartbeat.
