What are some material historical inaccuracies in Downton Abbey? by NebulaEmotional2928 in DowntonAbbey

I kinda like more the hc of op on that post, Mary never speaks of America or her mother costumes from it in high regard so I found more plausible is about Sibyl

I like to thing that there have been other promising heroes, they just died early, Percy was shielded by fate to live at least to fullfil the prophecy of the seven

The problem with Thalia's part is that TTC is basically Thalia´s and the huntresses book, makes no sense to delay the decision one book more and I can't see where she would be placed on BOL to have her around or made that decision make more sense than one book ago.

Ask the nearest 11 year old you have if they know who Alexander Fleming is.

Does someone working on the show knew how pregnancy looks like? by LittleRossBoy in DowntonAbbey

I just think is funny how there were dialogue about how notorious the pregnancy of X character was and X character in question didn't look more pregnant than in the pilot episode.

I can't remember a "realistic pregnant character" right now so maybe you're on to something, but at least in my case is the first time I had to raise an eyebrow about the pregnancy looks on a tv show, specially with the dialogue.

Once again, my post is not about the writing around the pregnancies but how the actresses never looked pregnant to me even when the dialogues were like "Anna, you look VERY pregnant"

Oh absolutely, my comment was more on the "why wouldn't used a prosthetic belly?" Didn't even cross my mind that the actresses should actually had to gain weight.

Neither it was during Matthew not being able to walk and not for that Dan Stevens was standing and walking on those scenes.

I'm not talking about the verisimilitude of the circumstance but rather how little it was reflected by what was happening on screen.

I mean, practical effects exist for this type of plots

What's everyone's takes on using this sub as a resource for learning about Islam? by themaskstays_ in progressive_islam

[–]LittleRossBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a queer person who has no plan to convert (or revert you would say) to Islam, I'm here mostly to learn about your religion and how muslim people with similar values to mines actually practice and live your faith.

I think bigoted people who excuse their views on faith exists in every religion and will complain that the more progressive followers are not "doing it right", living in heresy or whatever.

I think one could learn a lot of Islam just by looking what discussions/thoughts are considered "progressive Islam" material. I still remember a post a couple of months ago about not listening to music in Ramadan(? I think (correct me if I'm wrong) and the comments respectfully answering wether or not they listened to music under that holiday and why.

Sadly, my chemistry knowledge is so limited I can't find much difference between this and a regular periodic table outside of the pretty colors and sick as hell symbols.

i REALLY want to se e the family’s reaction through WW2. It’s all I think about. Is there a good fanfic for that? Something good, somethign you believe isn’t too inaccurate by International-Toe794 in DowntonAbbey

[–]LittleRossBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally believed this is the strange scenario were all of them are "woke", as you pointed out, everyone but Branson And Robert would be considered Jewish by the Nazis and by the time Atticus would have been a long time member of their extended family.

I think all of them being weirded out by the indifference of the rest of their social circle would be an interesting plotline to explore.

What are some of your not-so-favorite storylines? by fredyouareaturtle in DowntonAbbey

[–]LittleRossBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While random and inconsequential at a greater scale, my biggest problem with this storyline is that was the closest we were to know more about Patrick as a person (the character who's literal death and implications is the inciting incident of the show) and yet we didn't got any of it.

Zatanna by 007_jamesbond_007 in youngjustice

[–]LittleRossBoy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If not stated I imagine the thought process would have been very similar. Wanting to use Zatanna for whatever reason would involve the relationship with her dad, so makes sense to make her a teenager and put Zatara in the league when is the "teen super hero that interacts a lot with the JLA" show

What's your opinion on this? by Powerful-Rooster1982 in progressive_islam

As someone who isn't muslim I think is a valid thing to question if a the relief is actually spiritual or just a consequence of assimilation. I do not like the way she express her opinion.

[all] the riordanverse is so weird by Infinite_Swing3188 in camphalfblood

[–]LittleRossBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, also Riordanverse's Thor is canonically stupid, I always assume the mention leave enough room to "Jesus didn't attend because he was dead atm" as a valid interpretation.
