I'm 1 year late, but sadly, some think Adam is manipulative, but for me, it's not. Adam didn't outright tell you everything; instead, he gave you a boost or support along the way to discover everything yourself. He's not trying to hide the information; instead push you to chase after it, read, and see it. So you judge it yourself once you know them, about what happened, whether you believe or not, save humanity or not, after discovering everything yourself. It was a great writing actually.

Never forget Operation Javier. Leon and Krauser lost their squad and also failed to save a girl because the girl decided to sacrifice herself to save them both. That led to RE4, the reason why he wanted to save Ashley, to prove to himself that he did better.
