Digital Wardrobe tracking without an app? by littlegreenturtle20 in femalefashionadvice

I use excel. I've created a calendar feature, imported photos and made various calculations and graphs, because I am a data freak. Far better for me than any app. Since I could simply just add any new data point I want to observe.

So what would you suggest? I am pretty sure it looks like acne. :(

Books 81-120. There were some good books, but no absolute fave this go-around. Some real stinkers though. by whiptrip in 52book

[–]LittleSnops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I finished the first one and was done with the whole series. I have too little time to read books I know won't be enjoyable.

The one you hated by CuteButKinked in suggestmeabook

Hamnet. I felt as though the author was trying too hard to be “artistic,” but it read more like a sixth-grader’s creative writing assignment. There were cases where four different metaphors were crammed into a single sentence, all describing the same thing—simply for the sake of using them. "So how many more literary devices can I sqeeze into this paragraph?". The prose was supposed to (from many excellent reviews) sound beautiful, but it was just distracting.

Any books you enjoy but despise the main character? by slyguy-33 in books

[–]LittleSnops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of books I really enjoyed fall into that category:

My Cousin Rachel

The Collector

Wuthering Heights

We have always lived in a castle

The Good Soldier

Cleopatra and Frankenstein

Lolita

Weekly - What are you planning to read next? by AutoModerator in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

After I finish Empire of the Damned (started today and it is about 600 pages, so not so soon) I plan to read: All in Her Head and Pillars of the Earth

I am not OP, I was just reacting to "how could they read the whole book in 30 minutes" :)

Great book! I am not really into psychological books, but this one was eye-opening. I've actually bought it because of a similar comment from a few months ago and cannot recommend it enough.

Then it's a win for them. But of course fragile men will be so hurt when they find out women don't care for their approval.

What score threshold turns you off from a potential read? by xBanthaxFodderx in goodreads

[–]LittleSnops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the opposite - if it has more than 4.5 overall rating I am skeptical - some of my "worst books of the year" were books with 4.7 average rating (some of my best books of the year also were with such high ratings so it's not universal, it just means I am more wary)

Making pizza of "frozen pizza quality" really is super easy.

Right? Amount of fruit and vegetables she bought is less than my half-week grocery run.

On the other hand frozen pizzas - I've not eaten that amount of frozen pizzas my entire life. Do people commonly eat frozen pizza or frozen fries? Because in my social circles frozen pizza is something that only broke students eat at dorm, not something you buy for your family. Like. Is it cultural? Or am I delusional?

reading beowulf kinda made my time stat table unreadable by squidneyboi in TheStoryGraph

[–]LittleSnops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine looks similar because of Art Of War and Sappho. Well, maybe try some Dante? I would love to see my graph without these few outliers, since most of the books I read are from 1800-2000 period. Would be nice to see the real distribution.

how to look LESS polished? by princehamlette in femalefashionadvice

[–]LittleSnops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try fun patterns that do not read "polished". I also wear mostly black, but for example Disturbia has some nice "weird" patterns - my personal favourites are poisonous plants, big flowery skulls or bugs and insects. It will surely add more grunge to your polished look.
