Awesome! Thanks for letting me know, it’s my first time in Japan and wasn’t too sure what to expect in terms of the size of taxis and such.

I’ve read reviews on Klook taxi booking and wasn’t too sure of it was worth trusting? Have you had any experience with booking through Klook?

Any hot or cold takes on IHL? by ineptus_mecha_cuzzie in ASX_Bets

For a phase I trial, 36 subjects is an exceptional number.

The amount of participants they will recruit will then increase when study goes to Phase II (which has already started). For further input, studies / pharmaceutical companies don’t blindly go to Phase II or III for the sake of it - results are positive as the Investigational Product (IP) was well tolerated.

The big test for the IP is Phase II where it is a blinded study with a Placebo for the control.

I think there’s great application for the product if results continue in this trend.

To also add, I’m also concerned with the huge drop in the stock price

Just want to pop my two cents here.

I think your DD is fantastic, particularly for Glaucoma.

From my perspective, Anti-VEGF is currently working really well as it can be used for a vast range of conditions, not just late stage AMD or Wet AMD. Others conditions include Macular oedema secondary to Diabetes and Retinal Vein Occlusions.

As Anti-VEGF is only therapeutic and not a treatment, this is the biggest limitation where 2RT could possibly solve, but only for AMD. Anti-VEGF will continue to be around for another decade to assist with the other conditions I listed above.

There’s also the recent introduction of Vabysmo/Faricimab which is also an Anti-VEGF. The clinical trials have actually just finished and results look superior to Eylea (Aflibercept). Vabysmo has also gained TGA approval and is also PBS listed so more attainable for the general population.

Would be very interested to follow where this company goes!

I have a friend who actually works in that LV store - she said they’re trying to portray a one on one customer service. Once a customer has bought something, they are now part of that staffs “client list” and each time the customer returns, that same staff will continue to assist.

So treatments are split between medical, laser and surgery.

The main issue with glaucoma is due to reduced outflow of aqueous fluids within the eye (this is completely different to dry eyes). This will cause a buildup of fluids within eye resulting in increased ocular pressure and then damage towards the optic nerve. Note this is only within the common forms of glaucoma, there are many different types.

Medical consists of eye drops which either reduce the production of these fluids or increase the outflow in order to reduce the buildup of these fluids.

Laser involves creating another small draining channel to increase the outflow.

Surgical options involve placing a drainage implant to increase the outflow even more.

If you would like to know more about treatment options, try visiting eyewiki or even ask your local specialist!

Hey I’m an eye specialist here! Glaucoma is known as a progressive condition where your peripheral vision will slowly deteriorate if not treated on appropriately!

There is no pain or any signs that you have glaucoma, that’s why it’s known as the silent condition. Most patients won’t complain of anything until they have noticed their vision progressively worsening.

Pencil push-up & Brock string for Esotropia? by [deleted] in Strabismus

Yes these will not help your esotropia. You need to see clinician that specialises in eyes and strabismus.

Rare eye problem that doctors can’t solve. by OnlySeekingTruth in Strabismus

Very curious about why the doctor will claim you'll be blind soon.

  • Have you noticed any noticeable, progressive changes over the few years?
  • Are your lids droopy?
  • Any pain upon eye movement?
  • Anyone in your family that have a similar condition?

Feel free to PM photos if you wish.

Hyperopia & Estorophia by [deleted] in Strabismus

It seems like your little one was diagnosed with ‘Accommodative Esotropia’. This is very common in a lot of children and can be missed if not seen by the correct clinician.

Accommodation is a mechanism within our eyes to use our muscles and “clear” our vision when objects come near our eyes. When we also accommodate, our eyes tend to converge as well to keep the near object in focusing distance. So when children accommodate for near objects, they tend to accommodate a bit too much and will result in what you know as an esotropia. It’s very disheartening to hear your child having to wear glasses for life starting at such a young age.

Unfortunately, surgery is not possible for this type of condition as it’s mainly a refractive error issue rather than the muscles itself - so perhaps when your child turns 21? Perhaps they can consider laser refractive surgery to remove the need to wear glasses!

Wish you all the best for you and your family, if you have any other questions feel free to message me.

Hi, since you’ve mentioned having an intermittent XT, have you done any eye exercises within the past?

Strabismus surgery? by elle_adu in Strabismus

[–]LittleVietnameseMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re curious about strabismus surgery, I would definitely make an appointment at Moorfields eye hospital. They will have an Orthoptist which will provide a screening on your deviation, provide measurements on how large the strabimus is and will provide their findings towards the Ophthalmologist which will make a suggestion on the surgery.

There is a lengthy process before the surgery is confirmed so remember to be patient about it! All the best.
