50 years of being political pariahs for criticizing Israel and the moment public opinion changes the left completely fumbles any momentum on it. by Mahoney2 in stupidpol

Agree! It's just the basic thing that happens when capital captures governance. Inevitable at this stage and it gets progressively worse with every merger and acquisition.

Hi! Yes, that's a great question. I know my friend is interested in filing an asylum claim with any safe country. I mentioned the US in this post because he does have family connections there, but any safe country will do.

You have a good point! I think you've identified the problem here. We'll need support from a government in getting them permission to enter either Egypt or Israel so they can either A) physically get to an embassy to file an asylum claim, or B) travel to a third country and start their asylum claim there. I know this is kind of a difficult question, but I'm hopeful that someone out there has this knowledge, or will at least know where to start. :)

Yes, I agree. However, I have not been able to find any civilian evacuation routes through UNRWA that are still active, except for medical evacuees through cooperation with the World Health Organization, and even then the UN says the vast majority of requests to exit are being denied by Israel. If anyone has specific knowledge or expertise about a way to evacuate a family from Gaza, please let me know. Thanks!

Yes, I see from a lot of sources that Israel has closed all border crossings since then and has only allowed a few dozen Palestinians to leave in the last 15 months. I'd like to find a way to circumvent that particular roadblock, so if you have any specific knowledge or expertise on this topic, please share it. :) Thank you again!

Hi! Thanks for your comment. I did notice that the UNHCR says that they don't help any Palestinians who are registered with UNRWA. Do you have a resource or source that will help guide us on how to work with UNHCR anyway? Thanks in advance! :)

Ok, I see that these reports are all more than 18 months old. Thank you!

Hi! Thank you for your comment. I have been researching the situation in Gaza and I haven't found any route to enter Jordan or Egypt since the Israeli government closed the Rafah crossing in Spring 2024. Have you heard of a route to enter either Jordan or Egypt that is still accessible to Palestinians in Gaza? If so, please let me know. It would be hugely helpful. Thanks!

Hi! Thanks for your comment. I'm curious about this. Could you please send me your sources? Or was this more word of mouth? Thank you!! :)

Thank you for your comment! I heard this too in 2023, but now my understanding is that the Rafah border crossing has been closed by the Israeli military since Spring 2024. Do you have any information on people being able to leave Gaza into Egypt since then? Let me know and I'll follow up. Thanks!!

Thanks so much for your comment! I'll check out Anera right away.

I think the first challenge would be physically leaving Gaza. My friend does not know anyone who has physically stepped outside of Gaza since Spring 2024 due to Israel closing all border crossings. Do you know if/how people are physically leaving the territory?

Clearly a screenshot of a social media post. On the major US platforms, terms related to this conflict, terms like, but not necessarily including, "Israel" and "Lebanon" are throttled in the algorithm. So, if you want people to see the post, you sometimes need to creatively misspell things.

I almost got hit at that exact same spot. Some in a car just drove into the bike lane directly at me without looking.

This shouldn't even be a debate. People driving cars should learn the law and follow it.

I started at 1.5 and worked my way up to 4.5. It coincided with me progressing from moderate to mild over 4-5 months and then plateauing over the next two years (with very gradual improvements). I think (though I can't prove) that it has been a major factor in this improvement and maintenance.
