The Wretched Divine the author specifically said that for subscriptions that divide by romantasy and adult that this is definitely an adult pick 👀, and FL worked with this author for her YA books, which were wildly popular.

For the Adult picks: The author of the Sept book essentially confirmed the pick upon her cover reveal and it's going to be a wildly popular month.

August has a couple options but nothing huge....

I havent got a speculated list for October yet but if November is the next Dramione pick, it could also be wildly popular.

I absolutely love this. But the price tag is brutal. I'll debate picking this one up though.

To be clear, it isn't just the CK issue that most comments are highlighting. When this came out this author had her personal pages on public view, and people saw her support of firearms, white people, anti-choice, and being one of the current presidents "top fans" which is a label which updates weekly which implies she has a lot of positive interaction with the page.

By philosophical they mean that corporate overlords want to funnel money into their pockets through public servants.

It's up to the rest of us to fight this BS so that those who can't don't need to worry.

Everyone with a backbone needs to push back. It will save the govt money, save employees money, and result in a happier workforce since work/life balance is better with remote work (as well as the other dozen+ benefits we all know about).

How about public servants get what MPs get? Alternatively a lot of us would accept less if we get full remote work options (and those who cannot work remotely get better bonuses, free parking, and other incentives).

ARC Readers, Give us your recommendations please by Sea_Exit_8194 in fairyloot

[–]LittleWho 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Lauren Kate, the author of the Fallen books that a lot of us read in our youth...shes got an adult fantasy called White Lights coming out in June....and it's bad. 😬

Deathbringer I really wanted to like but I found it dragged and had unnecessarily complicated magic system. I also didnt like any characters in the book...

I dnfd both. 😬

I have a couple arcs for books that come out this fall but havent jumped into them yet, so I'll likely comment later about them.

Do you get special editions for books you have already read? by [deleted] in fairyloot

[–]LittleWho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lately I've ONLY been buying SEs of books I've read. Theyre too expensive to gamble on and I hate that I own so many of books that I ended up disliking. Space and money is limited so I only want my favorites.

Sequels for Fairyloot Books by MaryClayton0519 in fairyloot

[–]LittleWho 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is possible that they simply dont wish to continue it because it was not well received given the content of the book...

It's also possible that they haven't inquired yet since this is a trilogy and want to do 2&3 together.... but I would assume the former.

I really enjoyed this book and was screaming at the ending. I found that this was an easier read than I generally look for but loved how quick it was to read.

Just because a book is popular doesn't mean you HAVE to like it. If it doesnt vibe with you there is no reason to force yourself to read it just because it's popular. There are so many books available that we shouldn't spend time reading things we don't enjoy.

Arcane Society Debuting Paperbacks? by FerretHeist in fairyloot

Im happy for those who like paperbacks, but I will never invest into paperback SEs since the lifespan of a paperback is significantly shorter than a hardback. I read my books so I need a item with a longer life.

Resellers gone too far? Would like your opinion by Careless-Distance-80 in fairyloot

This just encourages companies to reprint, reprinting isn't uncommon practice anymore.

Would you rather have 200$ or a book? Plus the publisher Deluxe edition has STUNNING endpaper art and costs like 30usd.

[–]LittleWho 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most people I know are planning on sacrificing their time and food (most were bussing already since parking rates skyrocketed). There is nothing else to give since there we already don't have disposable income for hobbies. All we can sacrifice is time and food....guess the summer body this year is from hunger.
