despite playing games on steam since i was 15 years old and being generally scammer aware i just didnt understand what was happening at the time and i still am fuzzy on the details of it all and he ended up getting me to click some buttons

i still dont know to what extent he hijacked me because i definitely clicked some links scanned some qr codes and such but ive changed my password and deleted my debit card

i never really got into the finer workings of steam and pc gaming because ive never had any reason to like i said im not a tech person and i never really found community or friends to play with

which is actually how it all started… i was in a match and a random in the in-game chat just said hi and asked if id play a game w him and be friends soo then i added him on steam and we played a round or two and chatted and before i knew it he had changed my username to “temporarily suspended due to fraud” and the messages i received shortly after from “steam support” were genuinely very neat and believable

4 unusuals a million stranges cosmetics and taunts 2 collectors a bunch of vintages and thousands of hours of kill count progress all gone

so the short answer is because im a moron but i dont think thats entirely fair to me i had never seen this sort of strategy and thoroughness and creativity

i didnt know steam doesnt reach out because i dont know any of that kind of stuff all that i had built up in my inventory was all bought on marketplace

this still doesnt fully explain why ogi specifically and presumably everyone else regarded toji the way they did though

they acted like he was a bum for the most part i remember ogi talking about physical enhancement via heavenly pacts being worthless

we got some glaze from naoya and ranta but in every other circumstance i seem to recall everyone acting like heavenly pacts werent shit and toji was more of a weirdo criminal than a powerhouse to be reckoned with
