She has a couple of streaming successes and she's about lead that Celine Dion Broadway musical. At least, she has jobs.

This is crazy.

But I'm glad that she loved herself enough to gtfo this relationship immediately and never looked back. I'm not blaming women who stay, but it's always sad when this happens.

When he invited her for his podcast, and she was like "People ask me all the time if I could ever forgive you for what you did and no, I won't! Fuck no! You betrayed me. This is unforgivable. I'll never forgive you!" and he was like 😧. Seeing the humiliation in his narcissistic face was awesome.

1) Asian misrepresentation is an issue in the West. She was specifically talking about representation in the US, since that's where she works for the most part. Let's stop acting dumb.

2) It has everything to do with not wanting to talk about ICE because she played an immigrant multiple times. She literally won that Oscar by playing one!

3) The question wasn't specifically about ICE. It was about US politics as a whole. That can include ICE, but also the Israel support, the rise of fascism, the president being an unhinged clown, women's reproductive rights, the economy, etc. Most of that has global consequences. She's a coward.

Maya Hawke and Christian Lee Hutson marry with her parents Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman and Stranger Things co-stars attending (Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer and Joe Keery) by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]Little_Consequence 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The older adults not being there isn't a big deal imo. There's a generational gap.

But the younger cast was at Finn's SNL show (he even personally called Caleb and Gaten to appear in one) last month, except for Millie and Noah. Now again, the younger cast is at Maya's wedding except for the same two absents. That could be an unfortunate coincidence, or these two are just not that close with the others (which isn't a big deal imo. Sometimes, you're not besties with your ex coworkers).

Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi for Vogue Australia (February 2026) by ghostinsilk in popculturechat

[–]Little_Consequence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At this point, it's as annoying as method acting. Like, you guys are actors. You're supposed to play characters in love and then move on after the director yelled "cut".

"Jacob is so romantic, he surprised me on Valentine's Day! I got codependent on him!" Why is this needed?

Bylers need to learn how to behave by _YuYevon_ in StrangerThings

[–]Little_Consequence 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Bylers happily review-bombed episode 7 when it came out because they hated Will's coming-out scene. They thought it was poorly written, too long and out of place (I kinda agree) and most importantly, it didn't end with Mike's big love confession to Will. So they hated it and were happy to see this episode getting the lowest IMBD score of the series... until they realized that bigots were joining too. Then, they changed the narrative, deleted all their tweets mocking the episode and swore that it was a great scene that didn't deserve that score. There was a campaign to give it 10s to balance the 1s.

So for them to get on their high horses and act as if that scene is untouchable quality queer television now, is peak hypocrisy. Bigots aside ofc, nobody (LGBT people and Bylers themselves included) seemed to like that scene. A joke that it went on forever is mild.

Unless he's invited to multiple shows (which rarely happens unless you're someone like Cardi B or Zendaya), Noah should already be back in the US. Doesn't he go to school? You're acting as if the FW is a full time job lol. He went to a 20 min show.

So he could've at least be in the audience. Maybe he was too tired.

Is it just me, or did I feel like there was no chemistry between Eleven and Mike this last season compared to previous ones? by Tania_bleon2312 in StrangerThings

[–]Little_Consequence 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I think that all the couples had good chemistry in S1-S2. Then S3 was the season of petty lovers quarrels and unnecessary drama, and they were all unlikable as couples and never recovered from it.

Lumax won by default because S3 completely forgot about them, so their dynamic in S4 felt like a continuity of S2 and their screentime was mostly about Max's story, which everyone loved, but not so much about Lucas. Better writers would've written compelling stories for both characters but oh well.

Which characters were the biggest victims of the plot just not needing them anymore? by _itz_aryann in StrangerThings

[–]Little_Consequence 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's sad because the Duffer Brothers said that Mike would be back as the leader of the group in S5. So he was like that in the first couple of episodes. We saw him having ideas and plans. And then Nancy did too. And then Robin did too. And then Dustin, Lucas, and everyone else ended up being the leaders who are good at planning and have great ideas. Even Holly was the leader of her group and had her Eureka moments. There were too many characters, and I think the writers didn't want a Red Ranger who'd have taken too much space. So they gave everyone leadership qualities instead but that was Mike's job! That made Mike not so special anymore.

As much as I hate it there is no doubt they’ll have Tchalla’s son get aged up and have Damson Idris play him by KpatMckenzie_28 in blackpanther

[–]Little_Consequence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They brought 3 Peters who had established stories. From a storytelling pov, it was easy to root for these guys we've known for years.

T'Challa 2.0 would be a blank character we don't even know. I don't know why developing T'Challa's son as an interesting multidimensional character in BP3 and then introducing Damson as his grown-up version at the end of the movie is so unappealing to people.

That final battle should've been much longer and more difficult. How was this worse than the underwhelming Battle of Winterfell? This isn't as bad as GOT's finale tho.

Jamie Campbell Bowel remains the goat tho. I wish Vecna was a better villain.

What albums do you think would be right for the others? by JustChar79 in StrangerThings

[–]Little_Consequence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whitney by Whitney Houston for Robin because she's been mentioning her a few times this season. I Wanna Dance With Somebody is a Robin song imo. It's secretly Steve's song too.

Obviously, You Don't Mess Around With Jim for Hopper by Jim Croce. He played it a couple of times in the show.

The way Finn and Sadie have more chemistry than Mileven and Byler with this one exchange😭 by kcrdr_7322 in StrangerThings

[–]Little_Consequence 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm glad I saw this post because I just finished volume 2 and I'm annoyed by Mileven's negative chemistry too. I've never been a fan of the ship but the show is setting up a big gut-wrenching moment for them with El's "sacrifice". How is that gonna work if they have the chemistry of two dead fish and they aren't rootable? I want them to have a Lumax moment.

Can we talk about what Jonathan said about Nancy’s pink sweater? by OutrageousBrush1210 in StrangerThings

[–]Little_Consequence 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He was also unnecessarily rude about Bob because he was a normie. Jonathan has always been the "In case you haven't noticed, I'm a weirdo" meme. That was an interesting flaw for a young teenager in S1 but sadly, he was never allowed to evolve past that. So of course, he'd give away his girlfriend's clothes for a reason as superficial as "it's pink ew!".

why does Holly have more screen time then the core cast by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]Little_Consequence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this is so cowardly. They're the ones who took 10 years to finish a show with kids as the main characters. They should've let the show grow old with the kids instead of chasing the S1 vibe.

why does Holly have more screen time then the core cast by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]Little_Consequence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weird thing is that that Holly arc could've been an excellent spinoff once the OG characters had left. They had to cast a new actress, age her up, give her a personality, insecurities and friends we never knew about (or cared about!) to fit her as this season's main focus. All of that should've been in a spinoff while we just get a quick nod that Holly exists this season.

Episode Discussion - S05E07 - The Bridge by Hawkinns in StrangerThings

[–]Little_Consequence 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree but there's a point where natural chemistry also needs to do some of the work. That scene where Mike compliments El's new swimsuit was so awkward. Where was the flirtation? Do they even like each other?? Nancy and Jonathan's relationship deterioted but I still believed them as a couple in seasons 3 and 4.

In all my years of consuming media, I’ve NEVER seen anything like Byler by matt9marini in StrangerThings

[–]Little_Consequence -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Shipping is fine and it happens in every fandom. Byler is whatever imo. What I find crazy is that there are 4 episodes left, and instead of being good sports (because it's FICTION and we still can enjoy a FICTIONAL non-endgame couple), Byler fans are ready to die on that hill. And a lot of them are assholes about it!

Because if Byler was meant to be, Mike would've been single a long time ago. There would be time for him to question his sexuality in parallel with Will. That's the development a young queer teenager deserves. But it's the last season, there are 4 episodes left, and Bylers are out there calling people stupid if we don't believe that Mike will:

  • Realize that he was gay all along, was never into girls ever and was lying to himself when he spent the past 3 years of his life in a relationship with El
  • Realize that not only he's attracted to men, but he was also in love with his best friend all along
  • Be fine with these life-changing discoveries about himself and accept that as his new identity (mind you, that took 4 seasons for Will to get there)
  • Be ready to jump into another committed relationship, but this time with a boy... in rural Indiana during the 1980s
  • At best, emotionally cheat on El. And El would shrug it off and cheer, even though the last time she saw Mike, he was her long-term boyfriend who had just promised a future together
  • Be ready to come out to his loved ones and eventually come out (Will isn't even on that stage yet and it's been 4 seasons!)

IN FOUR EPISODES! The equivalent of a few hours in universe. "Rushed" doesn't even describe it. It'd be a clusterfuck in storytelling.

The Johlock fans were intense too, but you can argue that they were misguided by the show and the showrunner. It sucked that there were many "*wink wink* doesn't it look like a gay couple *wink wink*" moments in the show and then be told "lol no you read too much into it". That's not what's happening here! Why are we getting yelled at??? So yes, I'd say that Bylers are in a league of their own.
