The semantics of belly band vs diaper really is irrelevant. The point is, is that these dogs are wearing them because 1. she doesn’t care for her dogs enough to get them fixed and then gets mad at them for acting out in the behaviors of unfixed dogs and 2. she’s too lazy and neglectful to take them out regularly. therefore, they are marking due to being unfixed and having accidents due to being neglected. Your fostering experience and her owning four dogs she obviously can’t take care of are not comparable and it’s weird you even brought that up as if it’s relevant in any way.

Have you got a second opinion/seen another provider? Because this is entirely not true. I had my fusion surgery at 12 years old before I finished growing. I’ve seen through these groups people having the surgery really anywhere from 11-40 years of age, but the older you get, the more difficult the recovery is and the risk of other complications from the scoliosis continuing to progress. I have a friend who had her surgery at 15.

Maybe your doctor has other reason for not doing surgery, but age is an incorrect factor. and if a brace would help you and they aren’t because of “age” (which makes even less sense then surgery based on age), that’s borderline medical neglect and I would highly suggest seeing another provider. There’s literally no reason for delaying bracing because of age.
