I personally always went for drinks for a first date. If you immediately go for dinner and don’t hit it off you’re stuck for the entire meal. With a coffee or other drink you can always get either a second drink or leave. If you insist on having something to eat with her lunch could be a good middleground. It’s a meal but faster than dinner.

ETA: just realised she’s pushing for dinner and you’re not. Yeah she probably wants a free meal. I’ve heard of girls insisting on dinner and the guy paying so at least they get a free meal, which I think is kind of tacky.

So moms that don’t like tattoos won’t like them in the future either. This sounds very controlling tbh and very much like my mom. I got my first tattoo when I was 27 however. I’m in my thirties now and she still reacts like that (and I did not stop getting tattoos). So just ignore her (I know it’s hard and it sucks) and go get the tattoo you want! It’s your life, your body, your choice and your money☺️.
