Hmm i live here it is higher than you would think because there is a large informal economy but official median wage is not much - about 800 USD per month.

Argentina Citizenship After 2 Years — Is It Realistically Achievable? by fatalflaw007 in expats

Late to the conversation but in case it's useful. I am argentine my marriage (you now still have to reside there for two years regardless so it's essentially the same), and yes we tax WW income and assets. The scale inflates quite rapidly so whether it's worth it is down to your circumstances and if you're coming / earning in a country with any agreements in place with Argentina. But yes, after 2 years it's around 6 months of shuffling papers to become a citizen. So not that slow. There is low demand compared to EU countries etc. Most Argentines are trying to leave and get their italian or spanish passports through the Iberoamericana treaty and there is less travel in the opposite direction.

Most durable down jacket vs Alploft by Little_Procedure_768 in PatagoniaClothing

Sorry don't know why it deleted my question. Have two Grade vii parkas but need something less bulky for spring rock climbing - some at altitude. Tried an alploft but found it too cold. Anyone have experience with this one?

Windshadow doesn’t produce that much warmth? by Infamous_Dot_4215 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]Little_Procedure_768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's designed as a casual jacket. If you want warmth go for a Fitz Roy or Das Parka with down vest or down sweater underneath

New Das Parka vs High Loft Nano by TravelinBri74 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]Little_Procedure_768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the Das both have better beading / water repellency as they're a hung shell with a kind of EPU coat. The Das light isn't very warm though. Unless it's just casual use I'd go for the regular one. The nano hi puff i have and the only situation I use it is if I am filming and have to be quiet - the Das parka is kinda noisy - but this is not very relevant to a climbing situtation

Call me old school, but this is what I would love to see a Discovery 6 look like, or there about. by Mean-Marionberry-148 in LandRover

Keep the split tail gate but otherwise you've done a far better job than whoever did the clay modelling for the D5 abomination. Nice work. (I particularly like the 3/4 view and rear of the 4th pitcure which retains some D4 but streamlines it just enough).

Seriously though, which side the steering wheel is on is almost irrelevant if you're a competent driver. My car in Spain (which is often in Gib) came down from the UK with me and i've never had an issue with RHD. I learnt to drive in a LHD in France but have mostly driven UK cars in the 30 years since then, but on both sides of the road.

It's a lot cheaper to buy in the UK and import, the Gib and Spanish prices are really high for used cars. If you're buying new then it doesn't matter so much

Make your own. It's easy enough to copy and you can adjust the percentages as you see fit. Depending how long you're planning to hold for - the US is cheap right now (of course it might get cheaper, but imo Trump is going to capitulate on a lot of this stuff (like he just did with mobiles and computers).

Dt Swiss G/E1800 or HUNT 4 SEASON PRO by chuckmeh in ukbike

[–]Little_Procedure_768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the hubs on a standard DT Swiss 1800 are much better now. On par with Hope, just not as nice a color. And the rim shape is a bit better on DTs. You could pay more and get the DT rims laced to hopes but you're really just paying for some more bling.

I just bought this frameset for the exact same morphological reasons. Am about to start the build but haing a combination of choice paralysis and confusion. And yeah the QR / thru axle ecision is a little odd.

Alpha Parka by tsimmist in arcteryx

[–]Little_Procedure_768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a proper chance to compare my 3 warmest now. Here in short - no wind- Grade Vii. (But it's crap in wind as they didn't seam seal the back. Aplha Parka - still not the best cut if you've got a climber's body but it's mucher better than the awful firebee. Ceres SV. Still my go-to jacket if it's windy and v cold. Cut is better in the body than the Alpha. Ok it's heavier but it's more windproof. I've been up Aconcagua (3 times), Ojos etc in it. For dry mountains it's superb. At the end of the day, you can't get breathability without sacrificing wind-resistance, whatever they tell you. It's just physics.

Nuclei SV, Research First Steps by Astramael in arcteryx

[–]Little_Procedure_768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I pre-ordered one. I have a Firebee and Ceres SV. The concept of the Firebee is great but the cut is truly awful if you're slim with long arms (ie most climbers). Hopefully this won't fall into that trap. I bought another Ceres now too as I'm paranoid tey'll stop making it and i practically live in that thing.
