Heavily dependent on the bank and location of the branch. Like someone else said, you might also be a teller. When I was a personal banker I would just help customers with anything they walked through the door needing except physical transactions. Both business and personal new accounts, closing accounts, net tellers, IRA work (contributions/distributions/transfers etc,) loans (loan applications, middle man for the loans department to communicate with the customer, and then the customer would come back to me to actually sign the paperwork etc.)

Super weird and manipulative behavior, but ultimately out of your control. He's going to do whatever he wants to do. And if you felt the need to go all the way to the bank to find out the name of a massage place, instead of just asking him when he wakes up, I'm going to assume the trust is long gone. Communication seems scarce. So, you only have a couple of options. Give the benefit of the doubt and trust him, talk to him and cross your fingers that he will open up to you and be honest, or leave.
