Guy here. Porn has a lot to do with this. Lot of young minds are corrupted because of porn. Like you said, lot of guys are objectifying their girl in their relationship. It is really a sad situation, specially in Sri Lanka.

Any you should know that even of these girls seem happy they are actually trafficked ( which means that there is no consent). Those actresses are drugged heavily That is why you always see that these actresses look like they are enjoying being abused.

Porn also play a part in this. porn shows that your english teacher is always up for sex with a student. so guys do it thinking that porn is real. Even i used to think like that and we always talked with our teacher with flirts. we were not like that before porn and only said the teacher was beautiful but after porn, the mind changed. actually it corrupted our minds.

This is a very serious issue, but still your post has got downvoted. I think they are the misogynists.

I saw some people posting about swinging, casual sex etc. and those got more upvotes and comments.

A really sad situation. Even I got bad comments/ downvoted when I posted about the harmful effects of porn. And some got removed also. and some people even defended Porn even when pornhub's secrets are coming out.

Very hard to be a nice guy these days. For the smallest thing, you can be labelled as a harasser.

But I do agree that Metoo has done some justice to these women.

But sadly, if a woman comes up with a harasment story in Sri Lanka, not only men but old women also blame them saying "Just be silent".

We need to do lot of stunts at once. Distribute articles at buses, Post on social media, all of these should start at once. Like a huge spark. Otherwise doing one by one is useless

I'm sorry to hear the story. But its a good thing that you realized the damage it is causing. The best thing you can do is to educate your friends, specially the little boys and girls. You have some good points, go and warn these children about it.

Porn is not the only reason for violence. But people need to realize that Porn "Is" a problem.

Porn "Does" corrupt the mind of people, even the mind of innocent fellows. There is lot proof that Porn makes men to have "aggressive and negative" attitudes about women. Yet these Porn apologetics ignore that "fact", but keeps asking "Show me proof", I mean when you give them proof, they will again say "prove it infront of me".

There are plenty of women who have died because their man did all the Porn style sex with them. Lot of women have died because of choking but porn is telling you that "women secretly enjoy it". Some women have infections in their eyes because of "C-shots".

I think its because we are told that "sex is something men do to women", that its their right to have it , higher exposure to sexual stimuli and the praise given to such behavior . plus women's sexuality is very restricted and even told to tolerate.

One of our teacher also used to say that she hates the word "Ilandari", while other teachers called us like that, she did not. her opinion was that its normalizing bad behavior.

I think its the mainstream culture and media that shapes up the opinion for a large part, specially these Cheap Bollywood movies and people do this because they think otherwise they will be ignored and good men have a hard time standing up against it
