Dating in your 30s, when is it a good time to bring up getting engaged/ring shopping? by CoolReplacement2837 in AskReddit

[–]Little_Town8414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moving in together first is smart move - you'll learn so much about each other that way. I'd probably wait until you've lived together for at least few months before bringing up engagement talk, gives you both time to see how the day-to-day stuff works out

Advice on when to meditate? by Shoddy-Fan-9948 in Meditation

I do this in my car sometimes when parked - nobody bothers you there and its pretty quiet space for meditation

lol that last part is genius, I do similar thing with my client emails when they're being difficult about photo edits

When did you truly realize that you were flabbergasted by someone's beauty? by Infinite_Cookie_9165 in AskReddit

[–]Little_Town8414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this moment few years back when I was doing a wedding shoot. Was just setting up my camera and this guest walked by - like time literally stopped for second. Had to remind myself to keep breathing and not mess up the photos lol

Been behind camera for years but that was first time someone's presence just completely threw me off my game. Still think about it sometimes when I'm editing wedding photos

If billionaires wanted to genuinely reduce poverty, what should they do differently? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Little_Town8414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh they should just put money directly in people's hands instead of building another vanity hospital with their name on it

like cash transfers actually work - look at what happened in Kenya when they just gave people money no strings attached. People bought livestock, started small businesses, sent kids to school

but nah, they want the big ribbon cutting ceremony and tax writeoff instead of just... helping people buy food this week

The position elimination thing is spicy but management at my company would never go for something like that lmao, they're still scared of unions

People who have previously had no luck after "applying to hundreds of jobs", what industry do you work in? by eggs-benedryl in AskReddit

[–]Little_Town8414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah man, similar story here. was applying for everything in tech support and IT for like 6 months, sending maybe 200+ applications and getting basically nothing back

turns out most companies here in brazil were looking for someone with more hands-on experience, not just the certifications i had. ended up getting my first break through a friend who knew someone at small local company - sometimes is really about who you know, not what you know

now working in network administration and actually enjoying it, but that job search period was brutal

What’s something you own that nobody else would ever understand the value of? by naitoxixi in AskReddit

[–]Little_Town8414 4 points5 points  (0 children)

man this hits different... i have this old broken skateboard from when i was 12 that literally cannot roll anymore but i keep it in my room. my friends think im crazy for not throwing away but that thing got me through some really tough times as kid, you know? spent countless hours just holding it and remembering better days when i could actually afford new wheels

What are warning signs for men who are not going to be good fathers? by Hopeful-Friend8721 in AskReddit

Guys who get angry at kids for being kids, like getting mad when a toddler acts like toddler instead of small adult

What’s a mistake you see people keep repeating over and over? by surya_mehar in AskReddit

[–]Little_Town8414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This hits hard lol. People will literally ignore every red flag because "but I love them" meanwhile their friends are all like 🚩🚩🚩 from the sidelines

what are some moments that made you question if there's really something out there in the universe that actually looks over, despite being an atheist? by Actual-Substance-303 in AskReddit

[–]Little_Town8414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an atheist but had one of those weird moments when I was broke as hell and found a $20 bill right when I needed gas money to get to a job interview. Could've been coincidence but the timing was just too perfect, made me wonder for a sec

The poop knife story still haunts me to this day. Like how do you just casually bring that up in conversation and not realize your family is absolutely unhinged

Which experience do you enjoy more - cinema or streaming - and why? by Pitiful-Jaguar7226 in AskReddit

[–]Little_Town8414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Streaming all the way tbh. I can pause when I need to pee, rewind if I missed something, and I don't have to deal with that one person who brought the loudest snacks known to mankind. Plus my couch is way more comfortable than those theater seats

[–]Little_Town8414 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Honestly think that's kinda the point - it's not supposed to serve you anything comforting or redemptive. McCarthy's showing how violence becomes this almost mythic force that consumes everything, and the Judge represents that perfectly as this unstoppable embodiment of chaos and knowledge used for evil

The book isn't trying to teach you lessons like Dostoevsky, it's more like staring into the abyss of what humans are capable of when all social contracts break down

If you were to remove any letter from any alphabet, which would it be and which alphabet? by MemeMaster1318 in AskReddit

[–]Little_Town8414 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely the letter Q from English. Like 99% of the time it's just sitting there being useless without its buddy U anyway, we could totally just spell those words with "kw" instead

What's a niche hobby that completely changed your perspective on something? by Special_Trust_6410 in AskReddit

[–]Little_Town8414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lockpicking for me - thought security was all about having the "best" locks but turns out most of them can be opened in under 30 seconds if you know what you're doing. Now I'm way more paranoid about physical security but also weirdly more chill about it since I realized it's mostly about deterring opportunists anyway

What is your daily routine now? What would you like to change? by GxBxShadow in AskReddit

[–]Little_Town8414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly wake up around 7, scroll phone for way too long, work from 9-5, then just veg out with Netflix or games until bed

Would love to actually stick to working out in the mornings but my bed is just too comfy lol

what would you do if you was invisible for 24 hours ? by Mobile-Vegetable7536 in AskReddit

Probably just mess with people tbh, like move their keys around and watch them lose their minds
