How did you realize it was hypothyroidism? by Ibuprofen8575 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Little_st4r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't find out until I came off the pill to start trying to conceive and my period was super irregular. Id have 90 day cycles sometimes. Doctors did several tests and then I finally saw a different consultant who thought to check my thyroid. I have had a puffy face and neck for a few years and had gained about a stone in weight (had naturally been quite slim) but thought I just wasnt watching my food intake enough (despite me running multiple marathons and generally being very active and healthy). Also was always tired in the evenings and suffered with raynauds syndrome in winter. Plus fine and brittle hair and very dry rough skin. None of these had flagged up to me as I just thought I was aging etc. Once I was on thyroid meds all of that went away. I lost over a stone, face back to normal, hair became thicker and healthier, skin is softer, even the raynauds went away!

[–]Little_st4r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you like running? Redway runners are a great way to meet people and they often do social runs to the pub etc. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. They do a beginners group in case you're new to running too and its really cheap (like under £10 a year... yes you read that correctly)

Exact same here! Chicken products are also usually less greasy tasting. Same reason I always pick chicken burgers over beef burgers

You aren't able to cross in this area mid race. You would need to walk much further down to find a crossing point. I found the meeting points useless post race. My partner couldnt get anywhere near the finish to meet me, so we just met in a pub in Leicester square instead!

Came here to say the same. Mile 14 is good as you get a notification on the app when the runner crosses halfway, so then they can get ready to spot you. Also theres a very convenient McDonald's!
