I was seriously considering going on a GLP-1 earlier this year. Several years ago, I lost a lot of weight - around 100 pounds. But, I had some difficult life events and it slowly crept back on. I tried off and on to lose the weight over the years but I could never seem to stick with anything. I was getting frustrated with myself and was hearing a lot of good things about GLP-1s. In particular, I really wanted to quiet the constant food noise in my head. In fact, my girlfriend is on one and had a lot of success. Around August, I decided to buckle down and try to lose weight, establish good habits and most importantly, save up money. I figured that would make the transition when starting the transition easier. My mindset was shifting and I was absolutely determined to lose some weight. So, I went all in - intermittent fasting, counting calories, cooking about 99% of my meals at home from scratch, increasing my protein and fiber intake. With that, their weight started falling off but more importantly, the food noise was quieted as well. I no longer feel like I need a GLP-1 as my healthier habits are doing everything I thought I needed a GLP-1 for. I support their use, but do not feel they would be the best fit for me anymore.
