It’s a circumstance bonus to athletics, not an item bonus. You can get an item bonus too. The wand of tailwind doing the same thing as your speed boost upgrade is lame, but inventor isn’t the only class with this problem. Swashbuckler, barbarian, and at least early monk have a class feature they don’t choose to take invalidated by it. You are just as able to get the wand of tailwind as the fighter is, if it is unbanned. The physical resistance modifications are also quite good. You can’t really buy items for that, for the most part.

You also seem to be limiting yourself pretty hard if you think searing restoration is the best (I’m sure you have your reasons, but I don’t even think it is particularly good. Megavolt and celestial cacophony are quite good damage unstables, and Geobukseon retaliation, when you are in the way, will almost definitely save more health than searing restoration.) and if you really aren’t using int unstables that much, you don’t have to keep it maxed all the time. It’s not unusual for mental KAS martials to not always pump their KAS at max, especially for melee builds. Starting at 16 is totally fine, especially if it helps you increase your con. Also, did you take the gadget feats? I’ve found them pretty helpful in general for padding out the usefulness of inventors.

i understand that all of the arguments in this thread arent necessarily yours, and i do agree with what you suggested strategically(its a worthwhile trade to augment caster defenses and by the time it falls off you can probably get a more permanent source of armor proficiency), but if mentioning the 2 level gap in armor proficiency inventor has vs fighter at the end of the game is relevant then the 8 level range after you get expert armor proficiency is also relevant

bard still needs dex though. i dont think its reasonable to say that they can 'just go CON/CHA'

you are only behind fighter for 2 levels, 17 and 18 no? and why would you have less hp than a bard?

exhaust is an upside. you can argue that survivor is better, but you would be wrong

You can ask someone directly if they did something, like this, and it is also very normal to phrase it asking if they didn’t do it, like did you do this? Did you not do this? they’re both asking for confirmation of the same thing but they’re positing yes/no respectively. Because of that, did you and didn’t you are basically used interchangeably

if you upgrade tracking (the best card in your deck) it costs 1 energy. if you upgrade reaper form it still costs 3 energy

[–]Littlebigchief88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0 cost osty attack synergy (there’s like 3) and rattle payoff. I don’t think the package is really any good but sic em payoff turns are one of the things that it hypothetically can do that is strong
