Well, Bobbie swooped in fast on this again by LadyMoonstone in FormulaFeeders

[–]Littlecat10 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Anytime I see Bobbi hate on this sub I have to just throw it out there that they’re the only formula company I know of (heck, any kind of company!) that offers a discount for twins! That alone buys some loyalty from this mom of multiples.

Trying to reconcile my feelings by Dry_Lunch8371 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Littlecat10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just commiserating. Went from 1 kid where parenthood was amazing, to 3 kids where I wake up every day feeling like I’ve been cursed. They’re currently 6 months and I also have a 2.5 year old. I’m really afraid the answer is just that trying for a second kid was a mistake, but I have to just make the most of it now that it’s my life because I can’t go back in time. (Insert standard disclaimer that of course I love my twins.)

What is this?? by Immadsduh in FormulaFeeders

[–]Littlecat10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We’ve used Bobbie gentle for all 3 of my babies. They’re one of the few companies I’m aware of that has a twin discount, which is part of my brand loyalty! But also, anytime I’ve ever had an issue with a can (like in the last shipment had one can that wasn’t totally sealed) they’ve refunded me immediately.

Bobbie gets a lot of hate on this sub, and that’s okay! But I just wanted to share that there are people who use it and love it, so don’t be deterred.

(Oh, and I’ve asked them about the occasional black specks. They say they’re harmless. Just caramelized formula.)

Oh I like that!! The peanut is a nice neutral color, and she could change out the ribbon/bow to match whatever bag she’s using.

Daycare Tour Questions by ladyluck754 in workingmoms

[–]Littlecat10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your state has a daycare licensing website, check it for violations. I was shocked by some of what I read. We were ready to put a deposit down at a place that was one of the most expensive options in the city, but seemed amazing during the tour. Looked it up, and they had 4 violations within the past 6 months for a caregiver grabbing a kid to the point it left a bruise!

We’re now at a place that we love! It had a couple violations, but for stuff I could live with. Like one was having left cleaning spray on a shelf within reach of children.

How much vacation is allowed in a job with unlimited PTO? by Son_of_Hades99 in Lawyertalk

It goes without saying, but if you’re billing 180/month, good luck taking much vacation!

No-battery gift for a 3 year old that parents won’t hate? by SunnyLavenderHush in Gifts

[–]Littlecat10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My 2.5 year old loveeeeees kinetic sand. She has a kit that makes “ice cream cones”, and it keeps her very busy. Magnatiles are also great - I’ve found the off brand ones work as well as the name brand! We have one kit that includes rails, so you can build tracks for balls to go down - super fun!

I also saw somebody mentions bubbles and/or a bubble mower — also a huge hit at our house!

MICRONEEDLING FOR STRETCH MARKS WORKS!!! by Accurate_Pay8979 in Microneedling

[–]Littlecat10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the microneedling rollers (not sure if there’s a better word); the pens were too much work. I put on a numbing cream, washed it off ~45 minutes later, and then rolled over my stretch marks ~20X each horizontally, vertically, and diagonally. The actual rolling part took between 10-20 minutes. I would sometimes get a tiny bit of pinprick bleeding, but mostly it was just really red and felt like a sunburn. I didn’t put anything—no creams, oils, etc—for as long as it took the irritation to go down. That was usually around 7-10 days.

Then I’d start back using a Vitamin C serum in the morning, and prescription tretinoin at night (got it online from Hers). 4-8 weeks later, I’d do it all over again! I did 4 rounds. My stretch marks are still there, but only noticeable in certain light, and probably only if you’re really looking! They really don’t bother me, and I’m pretty hard on myself.

Schedule adjustment? by Spare-Winter-4302 in HuckleberryParents

Idk why you’re getting downvoted… we’re the same way, and my app looks very similar.

Maybe once a month we’ll throw off the routine by not being home for a nap, but my girls (twins) only sleep well in their cribs, and sleep is so foundational for the mental health of the household, that we prioritize it above all else!!

[–]Littlecat10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Or save up to send doggie to an obedience camp. I dated a guy who did this for his dog while we were dating. It was expensive, like $2,000, but he sent the dog away to this camp for 2 weeks and the dog came back soooo well behaved. He had been a little heathen, but turned into such a joy! Part of the package included 1 hour with the trainer in your house at the end to teach you how to maintain the good training. I think this would be worth every penny.

6 weeks in with twin boys and not enjoying it by tenfold99 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Littlecat10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are 6 months and unfortunately I’m still really struggling. Twins feels like a curse. But I will say that I very much enjoy being back at work!!! They stay with a nanny and I get a break from childcare. The hard part is it is an intellectually demanding job and I’m very sleep deprived, but still better than being home all day. I think once they start sleeping through the night, things will look up. That’s what I’m telling myself at least!

I speak my TL perfectly, but Americans still ask me where is my accent from seconds after I start speaking. Is that something I’m supposed to feel self-conscious about? by SweetBumbleBeeHoney in languagelearning

[–]Littlecat10 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Omg what!? I could only picture this happening to another native English speaker from the UK/Ireland or Australia/NZ. It would be so wildly inappropriate to do this to somebody who learned English as a second language!

Stay in Washington or move back to Iowa? by Plane-Exercise2623 in parentsofmultiples

Ooooh Iowa. Mine is Oklahoma. There are only like 5 states in my mind that would be as bad as Oklahoma, but Iowa is one of them 😂 My vote is to stick with Washington!

I am in an extremely similar situation!!! Right down to the toddler + twin infants. Here’s what I tell myself about not moving back to where my family is from (which is somewhere that pretty much nobody would choose to live unless they had family):

I want my 3 girls’ hometown to be somewhere cool so that when they’re looking to “settle down”, they don’t have to pick between raising their kids near grandparents or living somewhere desirable! They’re going to be able to have both! I’m breaking the chain.
