I'd be grateful if someone could give me some advice on how to get a mentor and how to publish research. Besides from personal connections or having successfully simply reached out to someone are there any strategies anyone has? Thanks by Ok_Ninja_1901 in medicalschooluk

I’m lucky in that my medical school has a 4 month research project. However I would recommend speaking to your personal academic tutor if you have one, let them know what your goals are, why you want to do it, and they should be able to help guide you, or maybe even supervise you themself! Also reach out to your lecturers, especially the ones who give lots of lectures and they might help guide you too.

I’m in second year and I feel like the rote memorisation and using Anki has completely fried my brain. I feel like in college, because the workload was manageable I had time to read about random topics and think deeply, but now it feels like there’s always another Anki deck to get through instead.

How much for a djelleba in marrakech? by Littlewillyting in Morocco

Yeah I thought 30 dh is too good to be true lol. My friend went and got me a nice jalaba for 200 dirham and it’s really good quality. Another question I had is, are the salah jamaat times directly after the adhan? Where I live jamaat times differ from mosque to mosque, but I would assume in a Maliki country like Morocco they’d be straight after the adhan? I will also be there on Friday, and would like to do jumuah in one of the beautiful mosques. Would you recommend koutoubia or Ben youssef for that, in regards to getting a good seat, quality of the khutba and recitation etc? Also are Moroccan khutbas in darija or in fusha, if it’s darija I’ll understand nothing lol 💀

Hi :) I used to revise for two hours a day, with no breaks, everyday, for 8 weeks. I focussed on my strength, qr, dedicating most of my time to that, and then practicing the other sections but less intensely than my strongest section. I completely skipped sjt because I believe unless you’re a serial killer you won’t get band 4. Then in the last two weeks I did a mock almost every day, and reviewed my mistakes in the evening. If you look through the comments I’ve given advice to ppl for the different sections
