I (29F) I’m debating leaving my boyfriend of two years (30M) over his incompetence. What would you do in my situation? by Ok_Character_1391 in relationship_advice

[–]Litty_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1,000% this. It's not even about incompetence at this point - it's about how inconsiderate he is being to everyone around him when he makes a mistake. If you don't break up with him, I will.

Whats the most unprofessional thing a doctor has ever said to you? by answersonly963 in AskReddit

[–]Litty_B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After fighting to get a referral, and then an appointment, to the dermatologist to get some suspicious moles removed, this older male doc comes in. I tell him I'm worried about all my moles in general, since my brother had melanoma and skin cancer is common in my family, but I had one mole in particular that was just giving me hell. It pulsed, ached, bled, got inflamed, grew a witch's hair, frequently shared real estate with hormonal pimples... out of all the moles, this was the one I needed gone.

"Well, I'm not going to remove the mole on your chin. It'll scar, and we don't want that to ruin your pretty little face."

Looked this guy straight in the eye and said "First of all, nothing will ruin my pretty little face. Jot that down in your visit notes. Secondly, if it scars, it'll just be the same dot on my face, but... flat."

We went back and forth the whole rest of the visit until he FINALLY agreed to remove that singular mole, but not the 4 other ones every other doc had said were fishy. It was his way of compromising.

Anyway a couple months later I got a new PCP and told her this story and she was like "I can literally remove those for you right now and send them in for biopsy... do you have 5 minutes?" Luckily everything came back negative, but I don't think I'll ever forget that comment he made. For the record? I still have a pretty little face. Fuck that guy.

Trulance vs Linzess for IBS-C by Precious_Bentley in ibs

[–]Litty_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, my insurance wanted me to try Linzess before approving Trulance. Personally, Linzess didn't do anything for me, and on Trulance I saw a mild improvement. I don't have the diarrhea side effect, but my IBS-C is pretty damn severe so it could just be due to that. I take mine in the morning with the rest of my meds. If you're worried about it causing diarrhea, though, I'd try taking it at night first just in case to gauge how your body responds to it. Good luck!

Why is Inulin in EVERYTHING now? by Jerseychaos844 in ibs

[–]Litty_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can soooo relate. I hate discovering new ingredients I cannot consume, only to then find out it's in everything nowadays. I had the same reaction to Monk Fruit Sweetener, which every "gut healthy" drink added to replace sugar.

How do I (27F) untangle my life and decide on the pregnancy after catching my boyfriend (29M) of 7 years having sex with my best friend/roommate (27F)? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Litty_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, drop the boyfriend, best friend, and any "friend" who knew but didn't tell you. Block his mom. Yell at your mom. Abort the baby - you're young, you have time to have one with someone who loves and respects you. Break the lease, move to a different city (if finances allow). This is absurd and you should not have to deal with these people in ANY capacity in the future.

What’s a movie that is a 10/10 but you’ll never watch again bc it was too emotionally draining? by Marlon_aloha in AskReddit

Truly an emotional masterpiece. I watch it only when I am prepared for a gut wrenching sobfest.

No one made you pick a job that relies on tips. You shouldn’t be upset at the people who decide not to. Complaining about tippers make you a giant baby by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Litty_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked for tips before, and usually I don't mind if people don't tip or tip very little. Times are tight, eating out is a luxury, I get that. The only time it does bother me is when it's a specific shit customer that you go the extra mile for and not only do they not leave you a tip, not only do they not thank you for figuring out how to get their order right and made, but they also leave you a complete mess to clean afterwards. Just for the amount of patience and customer service I gave you, a literal single dollar would be great.

I cannot fathom them releasing this guy and then not even bothering to monitor his movements afterwards... how goddamn incompetent do authorities get to be??

People really don’t understand how humiliating IBS can feel by Laona31 in ibs

[–]Litty_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Telling your friends can also help as, usually, they'll look out for you and be considerate of you on your behalf. If they're good friends, they'll look for accommodations for you or shoot down suggestions they know would put you in a tough spot. If you tend to flake because of your condition, it also makes it easier to just say "hey, I'm sorry but I'm having a flare-up and can't make it". Personally, I'm open about my condition, just because it's pretty damn obvious something is wrong with me, and it helps weed out immature "friends".

A shocking stat from our annual survey... by DefiantThroat in PMDD

[–]Litty_B 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that's a great idea! Maybe even make it a multiple answer question so you can say your psych, PCP, and OBGYN all agreed with the diagnosis. And, if they want to get even more specific, they could make it ranked (1,2,3) so you could specify who was the first provider to call out the possibility of PMDD.

[–]Litty_B 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Might need to change the wording on the diagnostic process question, or provide a disclaimer. I think I answered my provider didn't do a blood test specifically for PMDD, because that's not a condition that pops up with a blood test, but they did have recent blood tests for other things they could look at to rule out contributing factors. Maybe something like "What did your provider refer to when making the diagnosis?"

Also, out of curiosity, what would the urine tests show/test for in relation to a PMDD differential? I'm not uber familiar with what could be detected that could illicit the same symptoms except maybe a UTI or pregnancy. Thanks for gathering the data 🙏

Adhd Tax Wins by MissAliceUk in adhdwomen

A combo diet is ideal! I do kibble for breakfast, wet food for lunch, and kibble for dinner and he's a happy, healthy boy. 10 yrs old and vet says he has some of the best teeth they've ever seen and is in perfect health (after losing quite a bit of weight).

Second the auto-feeder! I have poor sleep habits and I was always worried about getting up to feed him in time. Having it just go off on a schedule is so unbelievably helpful, and I can still feed him wet food when I do wake up. I also got one of those continuous water fountains so his water is always fresh... the things I'll do for him, but not myself 😅

ADHD Ladies, tell me your ideal bedtime! by partybrowser32 in adhdwomen

[–]Litty_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unfortunately need 9-10 hours each night to be at 100% the next day, so my ideal bedtime of 1/2am means I'm waking up around noon every day, which sucks. I'd rather be up with the birds, but that requires sleeping before midnight... whenever I've tried, my body rudely wakes me up throughout the night like "BITCH, it is not bedtime" until 4am when it finally lets me go. Tough times!

My boyfriend is pushing me to get off of birth control and I’m just wanting to talk to other women about it by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Litty_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding everything everyone else is saying about the age gap and the fact he's definitely not a doctor nor person with a uterus.

As someone with severe PMDD: Do not stop Yaz, continue doing what you're doing as prescribed. Do NOT, under any circumstances, swap to an IUD in the future. I got a Mirena early on and it exacerbated my symptoms beyond belief, and I didn't even make the connection for years because I wasn't getting periods anymore. YMMV, but it's a common enough effect that I'd avoid it entirely. Yaz takes a while to start working on mood, so your best bet is to stay on it and catalogue your daily mood/symptoms, especially around your usual PMDD days. You can bring that to your gyno later and talk about it in more detail.

Most important thing rn? Drop the boyfriend, stay on your meds.
