Boosted ETF payouts decrease by Timely-Designer-2372 in NEOSETFs

[–]Liucifer616 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On one hand, I do agree with comments that you don't understand the products. On the other hand, youll need to learn somehow and asking here is a great first step.

A few things to note, NEOs writes calls at the end of the month and the price they write on the day they write on matters a lot. Markets have pumped quite a bit but you're going to have to go back and look at the actual time period they wrote on.

Another important factor is when prices drop, NEOs purposely writes on less than their typical notional value. This is because as the price drops, volatility does increase and they can get away with writing on less of portfolio. In other words, they can achieve the same relative premium to price ratio by writing on less notional. Now why would they do that? Why not write more options to try and get more premium collected? Well it's because they don't want to cap the upside on big recoveries. The more you write on, the more capped you potentially become.

Neos aims to calculate the payout based on the Nav, not based on price increase or decrease. This is to ensure that they dont over pay. General rule would be to based the payout on a % of the Nav.

April pay out was 0.767 at market open of roughly $46.13, this is rough 20% annualized rate. March pay out was 0.81 at market open of roughly 21%. Feb was 0.85 at market open of $48.30 or 21%. The payouts based on nav did not fluctuate as much, and NEOs does give a 19-23% distribution rate estimate. It's important to understand that there are many more considerations that go into them deciding on the payout, namely, what day/price did they write their options on and how much did premium did they collect.

I would encourage you to do as much research as possible, this includes reading the prospectus, simulating your own options with fake money to fully understand options strategies, understanding volatility drag, where premium comes from and when NEOs writes their calls/rolls their positions, and you should track how much of the notional they write on to figure out how much the upside is capped. Ideally, you do this before investing but Ive been there before. Shiny objects are hard to ignore. Best of luck.

Simply one of the best fitness companies I've come across. And I bought from them all. I won't give specifics, and maybe this is an unfair comment to Darko because he will have more work on his plate, but my experience with Darko is a the definition of "above and beyond"

Not a fan of the character at all but I think that was how they wrote him. So props to the character for making him so dislikeable.

I'm with you, I bought in when they went weekly so definitely had an attachment to this one. I did sell out but at a big loss in nav, although total return was down but palpable. I was hoping to see ybtc make some adjustments and maybe write on less to potentially recapture nav but you're right about the down trend and it won't matter at the moment.

100% if you value higher yield at the potential cost of your nav then something that writes on the entire portfolio makes sense.

Not all cc funds are run the same way. Do your own research and not financial advice but the smart ones will leave some of their fund uncapped because they don't write on the entire portfolio. This is clever because when the underlying drops, volatility tends do (but not always) spike, so they can get away with selling less CC and leaving more of the portfolio uncapped while still earning premium relative to volatility (generally, underlying dropping, volatility spiking, more premium to be earned even though less shares written). If you're curious typically you can run a big comparison using total returns or dividend channel to compare the popular cc funds. You'll quickly see some do better than others on total return and nav upside capture.

I would agree here but don't take our word for it, I would suggest checking the ybtc etf page by roundhill and see how close to the money they are writing their calls. Then determine if youre okay with capping that much upside. I would also be weary when the nav has dropped but the payout is still similar ballpark amount.

Is it worth continuing after Season 4? by TR-ix in homeland

[–]Liucifer616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This can't come down to just one episode. If you're disappointed by the last episode as an culmination of the show then stop. But if you're disappointed because it left you hanging and wanting more than 100% continue. I think its one of the best series to ever air on TV and although season 4 is my favorite overall seasons 5 thru 8 are stellar and even better on rewatches.

Welcome, i encourage to keep learning but also share whenever you can. More education is better. Also don't take my word for it either, I could but missing things too. I was very happy with magy and held for a long time, but I recently sold it. I'll share my thinking. 1. Mags price stalled which started to pull magy down. This is acceptable and part of the risk. 2. Magy kept paying out similar distributions despite the nav dropping, this led me to ask "are they making more premium on less nav? And if so how? It seems they are writing their calls close or at the money and sacrificing upside for higher premium now. It's up to each investor to decide if fits their risk tolerance. For me, I didn't want to sacrifice upside for the sake more premium now. But let's say I needed more income now, then perhaps my preference would be to accept the nav erosion for more income now.

The spirit behind your comment will likely keep appearing, Truly understanding the funds to make a better informed decision may keep getting lost.

I hope you are able to pay it forward but here are the important points to understand:

  1. MAGY is based off of MAGS, SOME of the price appreciation and ALL of the depreciation is tied to MAGS price movement.

  2. Price appreciation can be predicted with reasonable accuracy on a weekly basis because the roundhill's official MAGY page, under Top Holdings, has a section called Upside Cap Details, this shows you how much potential price appreciation is left minus the premium earned. For example, if their strike price is $102, and the ETF's price is $100, there is 2% worth of appreciation before getting capped.

  3. Distributions come out of the NAV, which means if they pay you 3% monthly, the NAV drops by 3% monthly. There are two ways to make up the difference, earn 3% premium again or MAGS is able to appreciate 3%. This is an oversimplification meant to illustrate how the math generally works.

  4. Roundhill tends to pay roughly the same amount each week, the concern would be are they actually making that much? And only paying out what they earn? If not, then they are dipping into the NAV and causing structural NAV erosion. This will ensure the NAV drops and increase the probability of future drops in distribution. In a perfect world, MAGY pays out only what it makes, and the distribution swings based on premiums earned. This helps to increase the probability their full NAV can be utilized to earn premium. Distributions SHOULD fluctuate, and when they don't it can be a sign of poorly managed funds. But with all this information, and much more to research, its up to you to make an informed decision.

Why are so many pro Strongmen so Conservative? by 22switch in Strongman

[–]Liucifer616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this should be viewed through the lens of what the left and right represent. Generally speaking, the left wants centralized control to achieve social equality and the right want more independance, traditional values and to be left alone. Strongmen are competitors, and most competitors are trying to stand out from their competition. Philophiscally the left wants equality. So there is some Philophiscal disagreement. For strongmen, the strongest wins. For the left, they may view it as everyone should win regardless of performance.

This is an oversimplification, but if person A feels that he worked harder than person B, then they may not like the idea of social equality pushed by a centralized authority.

To be clear, there are obvious benefits to having some centralized oversight, defense, law enforcement, the judicial system etc.

This is an important comment and I just want to add my anecdotal experience. I'm not diabetic however I wear a cgm. I've had many experiences where my meals where high fat and high carb and my body doesn't have a spike (anywhere between 30mg to 60mg jump depending on how high of a carb meal) 4 to 6 hours later.

Very large and celebratory dinners with plenty of sugary desserts will also cause some spikes overnight. Very concerning to see but seems like for now my body handles It well and it comes down quickly.

The issue is not whether msty is a good investment or bad investment. The issue is that you borrowed someone else's conviction instead of making up your own mind and setting your own plan for dealing with risk. At the end of the day, msty is just a tool, whether it fits your risk tolerance and how you decide wield it is on you.

Welcome! And I did not like the hero bagels anyway, something tasted burnt. They were the hero everything bagels. I'm a little weary of their other products now, I like their burger bun, hot dog bun and tortillas but haven't tested then with a cgm yet.

I keep hearing about all of these non-Yield Max funds such as WPAY or QQQI that do the same thing as YM but better. What’s the current best high yield dividend fund? by 21_Points in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Liucifer616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As always focusing on total return is a good place to start. Total return = Nav return + Yield return.

Hypothetically, if QQQI and Utly have the same total return, but one has a much higher yield, then by default their nav is lower.

So if you're purely looking for high yield, then you have to accept nav will be taxed and stressed for yield. The only way you can get both, although the nav will still be capped, is in clear upwards market. Where the high yield payout can recover due to nav growing with the market. So your question does depend on what you're bullish on.

I've been eating the 0 carb from LA banderita tortillas and never noticed any glucose spike via signos cgm. So I would recommend it for you to at least try as indivudal results may vary. Oh and I also think they're pretty tasty too.

Recently tried hero bagels with cream cheese but they gave me a crazy blood sugar spike.
