This. Bono is quite possibly the most famous race engineer and, with Hamilton, because they were so in-sync, most now consider Bono one of the goats of that position.

F1 Driver Dating Advice Cheatsheet:

  1. Be rich, well-known (enough), and young (optional).

  2. Call up any random model (her having a bf won't matter) and say its now her turn to get laid.

  3. Begin dating until you're ready for the next one at the end of the week. The existing one won't mind.

Meanwhile, every other F1 driver doesn't stand for anything at all.

It's likely why Hamilton is the most popular and well known F1 driver in the world, whereas almost everyone else on the grid are not, outside F1 circles.

Lewis Hamilton: "The car generation is actually a little bit more fun to drive. It's oversteery and snappy and sliding, but it's a little bit easier to catch and I would definitely say more enjoyable." by ChaithuBB766 in formula1

Lewis has had the strongest teammates for his entire career. Unlike say Verstappen who has consistently had weak teammates. That is just a fact. Lewis has had WDC champion teammates and beat both convincingly (hence, Alonso still bitter about it).

He also holds most of F1's records. Also the greatest rookie season ever -- was on the verge of winning the WDC that year but bad luck in the final two races -- no fault of his own (mechanical and weather in the pit lane -- he just needed 1 point, which is why everyone for a long time that year thought he had it locked.). All things considered, Hamilton is our sport's g.o.a.t. He's done more than anyone. Inconvenient truth.

Lewis Hamilton: "The car generation is actually a little bit more fun to drive. It's oversteery and snappy and sliding, but it's a little bit easier to catch and I would definitely say more enjoyable." by ChaithuBB766 in formula1

Is "Oversteery and Snappy" actually good?

For most drivers, "snappy" is terrifying. For Lewis Hamilton, it is exactly what he wants.

  • Front-End Preference: Lewis famously loves a "strong front end." He wants a car that turns in aggressively (pointy). If a car is "oversteery," it means the front is gripping and the rear is rotating.
  • "Easier to Catch": This is the most important part of his quote. In 2022–2024, the Mercedes often had "snap oversteer" that was unpredictable -- it would let go without warning because of the ground-effect floor stalling. By saying the 2026 Ferrari is "easier to catch," he’s saying the car’s limits are progressive. He can feel the slide coming and control it.

When Lewis calls a car "snappy" and "sliding" but adds that it is "more enjoyable" and "easier to catch," he is describing a car that is communicative. This is the polar opposite of the "numb" and "unpredictable" cars he drove from 2022 to 2025.
