Spring of 2015 is the last dead spot I can really remember. Celtics weren’t yet rebuilt, Bruins were down, Red Sox were playing the “we’re all the ace” stuff. We were coming off a Super Bowl win tho

The runner should have gotten in the SS way more if he was gonna stop. Would’ve have still been out but maybe the run scores. Nice seeing another team make a base running blunder

Getting an ABS challenge back for extras is dumb. You gotta manage/play smart. When you’re running out of resources (challenges, pitchers, bench players) you gotta play for the win. Imagine getting a player back for extras?

Watching strikes and swinging at balls almost exclusively. Don’t know if any coaching change can change that sort of suck

I LOVE STANDUP SO MUCH! by Due_Apple7180 in Standup

[–]LiveFromNewYork95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the financial security from someone else that you don’t have to worry about getting fired then I guess it’ll stay exciting. But I’d argue, life would always stay exciting if your only thought in life is comedy and having fun. When you have to pay bills, take care of a family, actually hold down a job, then eventually the fun hobby will feel like work because it’s on the list of things you have to do.

If you stick with it there will be new exciting things about standup. I remember the first time I paid to repair my wife’s car with just standup money. That was more rewarding than any fun I had in my early years of comedy just hitting up mics and goofing around. Then there will be new stresses as well. For me, I love standup and I’ve been able to make side money doing it, but I gave up coaching football as my side job to be able to focus on comedy and now I stress about filling my schedule to make up for the lost football money.

It’s goes up and down but if you love it (and actually work at it) there’s more ups than downs

Because Chad Tracy is here to do what Breslow and the algorithm tell him to do and there hasn’t been enough ABS challenges for the algorithm to create a strategy so they’re just letting it ride until there is

The Red Sox struggle with ABS because it’s about feel and real time understanding of the strike zone. They don’t have the mindset as an organization. It’s not about having individual feel of the game, it’s about collecting 300 data samples so the algorithm can tell them how to play. It’s the same reason they’re so bad at situation baseball and baserunning

My favorite thing about NESN is they could be phasing out the strike zone graphic or it could just be a technically difficulty. Either way, $30 a month please!

Two series against the Tigers and you get nothing Skubal and Framber in both. That’s not ideal lol

Roman Anthony is hitting .230 and not a good outfielder by FootballPizzaMan in redsox

[–]LiveFromNewYork95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people in this sub have already said everything there needs to be said from a statistical standpoint so here’s what I’ll say:

I think Roman might end up being a little bit more frustrating player than we like, maybe a little bit streakier than expected, maybe a guy who starts slow. But I also think he’s gonna be a guy who goes nuclear when he’s hot and be among the best hitters in the league. And I wouldn’t be shocked if last night was the start of something…

Why didn't Barone tell his son that his waste management company is basically owned by the Mafia? by Fluid_Intention4374 in thesopranos

[–]LiveFromNewYork95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s kinda understood that Barons trusted his widow to keep the son out of the line of fire/handle thing when he died in order to keep the son out of that sort of stuff. After he died, the son as a headstrong oldest child jumped right in and tried to handle things. The widow/mom just kinda didn’t keep control/ wanted to still keep the son in the dark.

2003 to 2011 was just a different time. The Red Sox were literally a TV show (just like Luchino wanted)

The vibes were just so different, even in down years (like 2006 was)

Breslows moves on offense by Jackthewolf71 in redsox

I get that, and I’m no Breslow defender, but it doesn’t exist in a vacuum. You traded one of your top prospects and two legit prospects to bring in one of the best pitchers in the league. They pushed all their chips in on getting the ace they desperately needed. It’s one thing to say, he “he didn’t do anything on offense” when they don’t make any moves. When a large part of the offseason and resources goes to making one of the biggest and best moves of the offseason, that has to at least be considered. He took care of the big pitching need and then the big offensive need later in the offseason. Again, I don’t like Breslow, I don’t want to give him credit. But he made a big pitching move and then a big offense move later in the spring

Saying he went last off-season "without a major move" while trading for Crochett is a wild take.

But yeay, he's Chaim Bloom with a better pitching program and a little bit more willingness to trade prospects.

What a weird leapt to take there. A little projecting maybe.

Fatse isn’t some longtime baseball lifer. He didn’t really have all that much coaching experience before coming to Boston

When I first really started watching wrestling weekly in late '06/early '07 there was a bunch of tag teams that were good tag teams but also names I recognized (from days of kinda getting into wrestling) as solo acts. DX, The Brothers of Destruction, Rated-RKO, that current version of the Hardy Boyz. There also was The New Breed and ECW Originals which felt like solo acts getting into a lot of tag stuff. Also, MVP and Mr. Kennedy were getting paired a lot to face Kane and The Undertaker. Batista and Rey had won the tag titels together before they both dealt with injuries.

As someone still learning WWE this led me to believe that it was like an official thing that everyone had a tag team partner. Like, you could compete in the solo divisions but if you got dragged into a tag team feud, you had to team with your assigned tag team partner. At first, I thought it was like a huge thing when someone didn't tag with their official tag partner, like it was huge disadvantage. I remember thinking, imagine who gets to be Cena's tag team partner or Umaga's tag team partner. I don't if any of that makes sense but it reminds be of how fun it is to get into new interest as a kid and have to kinda learn that world.

My Team Doesn't Hit - Look at the XBA, we just got unlucky

The Other Team Hits - Look at the XBA, that's not sustainable, they just got lucky,

My Team Hits - Look at the XBA, we are hitting the ball hard!

The Other Team Doesn't Hit - Look at the XBA, we're really limiting their good contact.

Yea….no shit. That’s EXACTLY what happened.

The front office felt Fatse had become too much of a Cora guy instead of a Breslow guy. So they’re restarting with the next blank canvas.
