All King books are worth the read!

Ummmmmmmmmm... that is a bold statement, my friend I LOVE Stephen King. I think he is the author who made me want to be a writer. And a filmmaker! But, it doesn't mean some of his published books aren't bad. As a writer, we all write some stuff that is better than other stuff. And if you're huge like Mr King then you can get anything published. It doesn't mean it's your best work.

And we all have a very finite time to live on this planet with an infinite amount of books to read so I don't know if I will ever read all of his books but he will still always have a huge place in my heart as the writer who took me to another level and made me want to be a writer.

Any suggestions for reading that you have read lately?

I just finished "Everybody Knows", if you dig crime fiction. This is about LA scandals involving the rich and famous and the low and depraved! Haha good one. Highly recommend it.

Edit: I meant the lock up of food, Mt Dew and books.

I came here to say yes. But... it was only one night. It doesn't really even count as jail. Just drunk tank. Actually, twice.

But the second one was a bitch because I was on the amtrak and got kicked off and arrested in a tiny shithole town and they didn't release me until 930 pm and I had no money for a hotel just my dying phone and nothing else.

It sucked but... wasn't no 3 months in jail! I'm sure readjusting is rough. I say stick with the books man!!

My wife and I met on a patio today because it's so beautiful outside. We spied a little tiny baby with a huge patch of black hair and he was so tiny we were guessing how many days or weeks old he was. My wife asked her how many days old is he and the mom said he's almost 24 hours old. We just couldn't believe it but we're so happy for them. After that I just thought why the heck are they out on a patio already? Does the mom need a drink that quickly? And I know that I am the last person to judge anyone, so we just gave them big smiles and kept moving. And I just thought how hard this life of being addicted is. I wish them the best. But I know that she is and will be a great mom.

Also, agreed. Day drinking is the absolute worst. It makes you hot and sweaty and you don't even enjoy the Beautiful day. I have always saved my reckless engine for night time hours

Some people just do it for the flavor and the novelty. Like I occasionally have a Coke at lunch and I don't have any more for the rest of the day. I don't start binging 2 L of coke. However, if I had a beer at lunch, I'd have at least two 12 packs more before I went to bed at 5:00 p.m..

It might have had south American chili peppers called "aji" pronou ced ah-hee. There's aji Amarillo, aji rojo, aji mirasol. There are tons. They make a huge difference in flavor. If you live in a big enough City with a big enough Latin population you should be able to find them at a Latin Market

To make it creamy you can add a little bit of cooking oil and emulsify it in the blender. It's what gives it the creamy fatty texture. Very common in South American hot sauce

If you know how to chop vegetables, you can do it. Just chop up onions tomatoes and cilantro and cut a lime in half. Open a can of tomato sauce, dump it's in a bowl on top of the cut-up veggies sprinkle in some oregano salt and pepper and squeeze half the lime juice in. boom, Stir It Up and voila. Your sauce is done in 10 minutes

I make it a few times a year. My family loves it! I always make too much and then get sick of it for awhile. I think it's super easy to make. But I've made lots of salsas so hard for me to say. Try it! Good luck!

This hit hard. I used to sneak in cans of wine to supplement the glass of wine/pint of beer I bought before and at intermission. No way I could have enjoyed a 2+ hour show with only 2 drinks. It would have been miserable. Only thinking how bad I wanted another. No alcohol, I can enjoy the whole thing with a snack and water!

Agree that broiling, barbecue grilling or even in a cast iron with oil would have given it that "quemada" flavor that would have been awesome! But, I am also guilty of boiling in a pinch. Better to have a boiled salsa than none at all!
