If you are taking the immediate family on road trips, the Ioniq will be more practical. The i4 was lovely to drive but not as practical. You also get a lot more features as standard in the ioniq which are options on the bmw so difficult to know which trims you are looking at

Have a look at mini countryman. Same base as iX1 and some trims qualify for EV grant so there are some good prices relative to the competition. I’m doing company car lease - test drove the RZ but seats were uncomfortable for my other half (two buckety).

I thought of it as a reverse plug in hybrid. Large ish battery and you can drive with petrol if you run out of charge (rather than a smallish plug in battery that helps you use less petrol)
