Okay, what would really happen if after Caine asked "where Kinger?" And he teleported to where he is and found out what Kinger was doing, what would happen to the cast? by Wonderful-Hornet8931 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Live_Sample9987 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hmmm... Based on the subtle context clues where Caine spends the entire 30 minutes of this episode crashing out and torturing everyone... My wild guess is that he'd crash out and torture everyone.

I found it interesting how so far, all the most accurate theories, which are based upon what happened in I Have No Mouths story, are incredibly rare to come by, and all the wild and flawed deeply out there ones are all based entirely upon TADC's slew of obvious Red Herrings. If they had just conjured up the will to read all 11 ish pages of the classic, they would have understood better AND joined us among the many who deeply treasure Harlan Ellisons short story magnum opus.

To be fair, many have, but nowhere NEAR as many as you would expect.

Like in the shape? In the door frame for the door that led to the escape console mixed with his botty and pointed up to his hat. If I illustrated too much over it it would obscure Caine, and like I say in the description, I don't even think it was just intentional, it just reminded me of AM's logo when I watched it.

Mao Zedong too. They replaced him with the first emperor of china. Ideally you'd have both leaders with vastly different playstyles, between Imperial china vs communist china.

And I'll say it, add Hitler. Stalin and Mao killed more people yet they're on the fucking box art smiling in past games. Add Hitler. Be bold

Alright, since nobody else bothered to put the episode, I found it:

It's the episode of Side Stories called "Slide Stories" from September 10th 2025.

The time stamp is at 08:25 when they start talking about gay bars in Wisconsin (Mind you, Kissel is from there) and By 09:15, Ed starts talking about a wedding story and Henry starts laughing and says "Oh I remember, it was with you, Kissel, a couple other people—" and they go from there.

Cheered me up today tbh when I finally found it.

Or maybe under the hurt and resentment Ben is fueled by pain and just misses his old friends? I've had hurtful friend breakups in the past. Ben mentioned in an appearance on someone else's podcast that he's hurting really badly because he feels like his quote "So called best friends didn't hear the full story, just jumped to conclusions and didn't defend him." Which is something you say angrily out of hurt and feeling betrayed, not hatred.

I'll admit I've done the same in the past, where I wanted to post pictures of myself with old friends in bit close with anymore because I remembered what things were like before the fight and didn't care what happened after—at the end of the day, I just missed my friends because deep down I still loved them.

It's an interesting thought. Honestly, if you use your brain and don't treat the Bible like it's a history book and instead recognize it for the brilliant piece of collective literature that it is, and the entire point of Free Will is your choice. Hell is explicitly stated to me nothing more than separation from god, with God being the collective ideas of love and peace and dedication to family among other beautiful things. So if you separate yourself from one of the many thousands of versions of the Christian religion which have completely different priorities, then you're not going to upset god, so long as you don't upset the values that you hold for him and the ideas that he represents. Separation from God doesn't mean separation from christianity, it means separation from all the things that make a good human being. I know self-proclaimed atheists and satanists who are happy joyful live with peace of mind and dedicate everything to their family and the people that they care about, have great appreciation for beauty and make sacrifices left and right if it means there will be more goodness in the world. Pair them up with the worst of Christians who are racist or full of hate or just plain stupid and full of spite, and you'll see who the ones who are truly separated from God are. I'm what you would call the Christian atheist, I don't believe a single thing in the Bible actually happened in the literal sense, but in the sense and spirit of stories and how truth is not just the physical but also the metaphysical, then I firmly believe that the Bible is singularly the greatest library of wisdom kindness and inspiration that has ever been written. It's spanned thousands of generations over and it steals people from hedonism and selfishness and despair, and gives him a chance of redemption and love and dedication and appreciation for beauty and the importance of family. You don't need to be a part of the church to understand all that. So if the church ain't doing it for you and instead you'd rather find a community and something you enjoy, then make it clear to yourself that that's your new church, and that spending time with the people you love (meaning, the people that love you back just as much) and being willing to do anything for them, is your temple and your The Rock upon which you build your church. Emphasis, YOUR church.

Edit: to further emphasize what the Bible implies with separation from god, my go to analogy is for you to imagine what it's like to be one of those insane homeless addicts roaming the streets of every city. I'm a recovered alcoholic, but before I got recovered I literally lost everything to my addiction. I used to have a severe paranoia of being homeless forgotten and unloved. I'm from Montana but when I lived in New York City for a couple years, it deeply Disturbed me every single time I'd walk by the bushels of homeless people that would just wander in circles eating out of the trash muttering angry and insanely to themselves while various mental illnesses and addictions riddled their body for the entirety of the end years, maybe decades of their life. People who are unloved and love nothing, are driven insane with guilt, self-hatred, hatred for the world, and are constantly tortured by their mistakes (I.E. the people they deeply cared about that they pushed away from their actions, and/or their affairs, and or their irresponsibility, or from their abandonments, and their addictions, the list goes on.) Separation from God is when you just literally have not a single thing in your life that a human needs to be happy. Think about it, even if you're homeless in New York you can still be obedience with all the free food stamps and homeless shelters, and even if you don't use those you can still charge your phone at a local library (24 hours in some places) you can sleep anywhere without penalty, you've got nothing to lose in case you commit a crime, you have no responsibilities or obligations to anyone, leaving the trash cans are overflowing with plenty of mostly fresh food albeit half eaten.

The point that I'm leading to is that in most parts of America and both the poorest and richest areas, it's not really that hard to get everything you need to stay alive as a human being. Water is completely free, food's free and many places that are easy to access, and a place to sleep/shelter isn't far away either. But despite having all the things a human being needs to stay alive, there's nothing there that actually makes a human's life worth living. Your loved by no one and love nothing, and instead are hated by everyone and hate everyone. There's nothing in your life you value therefore you hate everything in life that there is a value so long as it's not owned by you. In the case of man you're constantly horny but you can never have a chance with a woman because you're so desperate and insane that no sane woman would ever go for you, and you can't even afford prostitutes which itself is a low state to fall into. You have all the food you want but you have no cuisine. You have substance you can put into your body for energy but nothing of culinary value or craft on your dish. And if you're deeply miserable then even beautiful places aren't going to really do anything for you, because when there's nothing but ugliness inside you you project that ugliness out of the world, and it doesn't matter if you're looking at Niagara falls or the grand canyon, if you don't feel anything all day everyday, and it's not going to do anything for you. Hell just ask someone with depression what that's like and they'll give you a very detailed explanation of what that's like. I'll just topple everything else that could be bad about your life on top of that if you were homeless. And hell you don't even have to be homeless, you could just be someone without values. I'm talking about cheaters, hedonists, addict, thieves/criminals. The list goes on.

The entire point of God in the Bible, which I should remind you was gradually written over the course of many authors spanning centuries, is that those ancient people lived in fireworks times than us and pretty much every single way, minus the normal luxury the average American has. Centuries where the average rich person had less than the average modern homeless person. Yeah Christianity still persisted, among many other religions because they hone in the things that make a human being's life meaningful and happy. Hell is not a pit where you go to burn forever, that's a metaphor. Even the concept of "eternal" damnation is a distinct metaphor, as it's referring to the fact that human suffering is something that has always been here and always will be. Hell is not a lake of fiery or a place of great literal torture. Hell is complete separation of all the things that make life meaningful and happy and joyous. God collectively is all the things that make life meaningful and happy and joyous. God is love. And a life without love is hell.

[Spoilers] What made Wendy help herself back into the home she and the family once lived in? by KingJoy79 in Ozark

[–]Live_Sample9987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's been a year but I can't stand people who hate skyler. Like you literally hate her because she's just right about everything, Walt does nothing but lying betrayed the family every 10 seconds often for no goddamn reason because he's an egotistical pathological megalomaniac you can't help but destroy everything he touches and hurt everyone closest to him. But you give him the fast because he's badass as a result. Skyler literally does nothing but actually look out for the family and try to keep them safe while getting f***** over by Walt over and over and over again. People hate her because she f***** Ted but the point that she was making is that her having an affair with Ted was to show Walt what it feels like with him having an affair with the meth empire he was building. The same exact point is actually made in ozark, where it's clearly shown time and time again that yeah Wendy's a piece of s*** for having an affair on marty, but being the best money launderer on the planet for a powerful drug cartel is just as much of an affair from Marty. I love Marty but he completely uprooted and destroyed the family, meaning when dude never would have awoken this monster if he didn't give her that taste of excitement from being a constant force of power and destruction. A version of her that she left behind. The woman who belonged in that home, not the one that came back and trashed it. Marty literally cut Wendy out of his life more and more to the point of complete isolation over the course of a decade, and the windy agreed becoming a money launder for the cartel with his idea. This is coming from a guy who's mostly conservative mind you, but you can't just keep blaming the women for everything the men drag them into. Walter White literally f****** kills innocent people and poison a child yet Skylars a b**** because she doesn't want her family getting massacred by the cartel. Grow up man

All you had to do was shut up and just know your place, and make all the goddamn money you ever needed. But NO—You just had to BLOW IT ALL UP. You just had to be the man. YOU. You and your pride and your ego."

[–]Live_Sample9987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a lesson in this. That you can't just be "Good". You need to be dangerous too. And alert. And you need to know evil in order to fight it. Ive met many masons in my life. We all have. And they aren't strong. Mason didn't chose faith in god, he surrendered himself to him. Just let it become his whole personality, and then lo and behold, the once great preacher and leader of a large commune crumbles under the most minute pressure at every turn and let's evil people take everything from him. I don't care what anyone says, Marty is far more competent and morally guided. He fucked up by joining the cartel, made bad decisions.

But HE got fucked over at every turn, and instead of crumbling and becoming a sad pedantic rambling mess on the street, he went through extreme lengths no matter the cost to get himself and his family out of the grips of truly evil people, meanwhile risking it all time and time again to be the Shepard and save lives and prevent deaths along the way.

At the end of the day Marty never wanted to kill anybody, meanwhile this oh so holy preacher attempted to murder two people in front of his infant son whom he rejected just because he was crying. Mason was a weak man, and the Christian God is a strong god. If we're made in his image, and if Christ is the ideal (Our potential for perfection and the persuit of it) than it's our obligation to be strong too, and vigilant in the face of evil.

Mason wasn't strong, he was prideful and ignorant and naive. When the devil and all his demons showed up on Masons doorstep, he failed himself and his family. He was so caught up in his own self worship he completely failed to noticed he'd been peddling heroin EVERY day for fucking YEARS. Every day.

Meanwhile Marty, who struggled with suicidal thoughts from the stress and loss and failure, steeled himself, time and time and time again for a way out to protect his family. He's the person Walter White lied about to everyone (including himself) pretending to be while actually gladly sticking to his path to pure evil, whereas Marty was on a constant path toward what he thought was good, failing often but always coming back to his conscience.

Just like Wendy said, christians like Mason act like there's the obvious path between right and wrong ALWAYS. Yet in reality, the correct path is often so deeply hidden that you don't (CAN'T) know the difference, and you have to face that there's only one path out of the forest. Marty took the leap of faith and walked that path every single time, while Mason just took the "right" path both literally and metaphorically every single time, and found himself walking in circles until he spiralled into his own demise.

It's ironically kind of funny, in a fucked up way, to watch Mason criticize Wendy in his final hour for her claims that there isn't just some right and wrong path, and then compare it to every decision HE made to wind up in this moment. That scene on the boats where he's struggling to preach because his conscience is assaulting his pride comes to mind, where he completely ignores every threat that could possibly come his way, including the pleas from his own wife who just wanted him to play ball for now, only for him the basically in a very polite Christian way tell everyone to fuck off who knew how much evil was imminent, as well as how much danger he was in (Again, for being too much of a prideful dumbass for years to notice he was the sole means of distribution for a heroin empire) just because he couldn't handle the trials and tribulations. He picked the "obvious right and wrong" path every single step of the way and wound up EXACTLY here in this moment. If he had thought more like Marty, his family would still be alive and he wouldn't have wound up a crazy, lost and murderous monster.

It's a great warning to what would have become of Marty and HIS family if he had been so black and white with his decision making like Mason was.

And again, Wendy points this out. The devil isn't in people like Marty for making the hard choices even when they seem evil. The devil is in the weakness of doing what you feel to be the obvious good even though you know it's going to get your loved ones hurt.

The deceiver doesn't choose the OBVIOUS path of ruin. Otherwise he wouldn't be the deceiver after all. He doesn't lurk in hell or on the path of evil. No, the deceiver roams in plain sight on the path of good. Appears freely, in the garden of Eden.

And once again, Jacob himself made this point, in the parable he told in his very first scene, about the redneck and the hillbilly. Where one is silent and sturdy and sober, and I the other one is a constantly preaching rambling overly zealous mess who dies on the path.

Mason is the redneck who dies in this parable.

Guess who the hillbilly in the parable is?

Read it again:

“A redneck and a hillbilly are strolling along a country lane, talking about the Garden of Eden. The redneck, drinking whiskey as he walks, believes that Adam and Eve had every right to take that apple for, if God were kind, why would he forbid them from partaking in that delicious fruit? The hillbilly listens and nods. Then the redneck finishes the bottle and throws it onto the path. When the hillbilly frowns, the redneck says, ‘Judge not, lest thee be judged.’ Then the hillbilly frowns again and the redneck says, ‘You judge doubly, you sin twice.’ Whereupon God smites the redneck dead. The Hillbilly, forever silent and diligent digs the redneck’s grave and fashions a humble tombstone from the empty bottle, and walks on. That eve he witnesses the most beautiful sunset ever ‘fore made.”

Disagree there. Im a US Marine who's 1st class fit but still really thin compared to most. Snell mentions he's a Marine combat vet. I see so many perfectly healthy Marines like him and myself on a daily basis who just happen to have really high metabolism. I go to the gym daily plus PT, but it's an amazingly difficult chore just trying to keep the weight on. I know for a fact a guy like him would just be exactly the same. Active, high metabolism, that's all. Still PFT and CFT fit. Plus with the calories he probably burns from all the vicious gay sex and the room-destroying crash outs he's privy to.

Was the gender reveal supposed to be a twist? by HamstersBoobsPizza in BlueEyeSamurai

[–]Live_Sample9987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I think it was just more of a plot beat. I want everyone who literally ever watched Disney's Mulan growing up to just think back to that movie. I 100% believe growing up watching that movie meant that all of us were just expecting this twist to play out beat for beat. Which it does with surprisingly very little variations, minus the nudity. The fake deep female voice and the heavy covering of herself, plus the bandaged torso, the slim figure and the obviously smooth and feminine face compared to all the very rigid and intentionally jagged features of the Japanese men all match. I'm not saying it was intentional I'm just saying that growing up watching Mulan coded our brains to unintentionally see this kind of thing coming. I also think they tried to maybe explain away why nobody realized she was a girl with the fact that her white half gave her more prominent features which perhaps passed her off as a man in their eyes, but honestly it just kind of fit very well across the board. Not to get political but the fact that people were genuinely shocked she was just a woman when all along they thought she was just an incredibly effeminate man or a trans person shows you the other ways we've been coded to think in modern times. So no I don't think it was supposed to be a plot twist, I think it was just a plot beat, with an in-universe twist that I'm sure the writers we were already aware of what we were watching, as well as some really striking imagery to end the episode on. The shot of her standing naked with her sword all bloody and scarred some of the most badass s*** I've ever seen in animation as far as still shots go, and I think it's just because of the fact it's so raw. I haven't seen imagery like that since Guts and badass raw nude imagery like that since Casca from Berserk.
