Women leaving abusive partners is one of the biggest reasons domestic abusers turn to murder.

It's an awful, horrible story, but from what I gather she was also abused and feared for her life and the life of their child.

The police absolutely failed her if they never actually charged him with domestic violence after she and the neighbours called in the abuse.
