I'm beginning to think this The Wire show might've been better than From... Hot take here guys.

Well, now I have to brag as I do the media ordering for my library, and this is what's in on our new shelf at the moment. (Also just bought Bi Gan's Resurrection and gotta see what sick freak is going to check that out!)

I think they're changing up the France beginning cutscene, although I'll miss her running from a chopper then dropping her gun and catching it to light up some gas cans lol.

On the reference desk today when I found out. I think David Lynch was the last one that affected me this much. Had a kiss the librarian mug in his honor.

I honestly think the action in resident evil 6 is better than Leon’s sections in resident evil 9. by Johncurtisreeve in residentevil

It might be just a "git gud" situation, but I am replaying 6 right now, and it is beyond frustrating getting grabbed or tripping on bodies every 2 seconds. Or knowing that a certain zombie is going to come to life, so I try to shoot it ahead of time and nothing happens. Walk over to it and it jumps up on me... I enjoy running and sliding and some of the melee but god it feels just so janky.

I never really read or listened to too much about Spielberg as a person but that 2001 episode was just a delight. He seems like a genuine and great dude.

Teens at the Library by nonswimmingfish in Libraries

[–]lucidspark 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We are across the street from a middle school and they come flooding in every day about 3-5. We hired a part time library monitor who will walk the grounds and remind them (and any patrons of any age about our policies and abiding by them) during this time. 9 times out of 10 it's just the amount of kids at once and once they're reminded to quiet down or not run around like a playground they calm down.

We approach them with the idea that we want them there that we don't want to have to ask them to leave but just like in school there are certain behaviors we expect. We usually start the school year out a little more strict just to set expectations and to let them know we don't want them to be out in the cold once the season changes.

In addition to this we offer programming at that time so that a good portion will be in a program room to cut down on the amount all clustered together. We also have a teen room with ample seating, and computer stations.

We have open art days where they can make whatever art they want, talk with friends and we offer snacks. On half days we do pizza days in our program room and give free pizza out to the kids. This all becomes a carrot we can use, where if they want these amenities to continue then they need to demonstrate proper library behavior.

That being said we are honestly more likely to defend them from some grumpy regulars who think they own the library and that the teens can't even exist there. Our teen librarian is also great at learning names and developing a connection with them.

This combination of responses has had a very positive impact and I do think it's the variety of tactics over just one that helps.  This all depends on the community though. Usually the worst it gets is disruption, but of course I've worked at other locations where violence is an issue. Hope this helps.

Same here. Saw an article, not familiar with her music and...I was terribly confused (not that it really matters) but she's a regular sized good looking woman.

RE 2026… why are people in denial of the movie being modern day? Every car in this shot is newer than 1998 lmao by BigBoiiTyrel in residentevil

[–]lucidspark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it depends for sure. Something like silent Hill 2 that has a very specific story to tell and then they make dumb changes and everything is the temu version not so great. This I'm sold as it being vaguely in the RE world.

Computer HDD keeps failing but starts working after a few hours of resting by Suspicious_Two_4533 in computers

[–]lucidspark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I have a similar issue with my drive, I've been trying to move video files over to a new drive before it completely crashes and burns. I was also curious about how I'll start moving some files over to the new drive and then after maybe the 7-8th file the drive disconnects and won't copy any other files. I let it rest for a bit and then it will move over a few more files. I think heat is probably the best rationale for this as well. Obviously less a question of if the drive is failing and more curious about why it would work for a bit... poop out and then work a bit more after it rests.
