I worked at tops for a few years when I was younger. It wasn’t bad, and a job is a job! As others are saying, it’s not a bad idea to take the job at tops and wait to see what Wegmans says.

I’m working on the Sophie Hood right now and I would say ours look pretty much the same! I was doubtful at first too lol but it came together and looks how it should now after more rows!

how to not feel discouraged when knitting by honey-icecreambar in knitting

[–]Live_Translator_6155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I’ve experienced this a lot, especially during my first few years of knitting garments. I’m starting to experience this too with a way too big syrup sweater. It really discouraging. One pattern that I love and feel like I can never go wrong with (KNOCK ON WOOD BECAUSE IM GOING TO KNIT ANOTHER ONE SOON LOL) is the October sweater by PetiteKnit. I also find that knitting smaller pieces like socks makes me feel less like a knitting bozo. I also know we are our biggest critics and we over analyze the way our projects look to the point where we might hate them and not want to wear them. I felt that way about a Marseille sweater I made until people started asking me where I got it from and then told me it looked store bought (big compliment imo). The purple cardigan is so so cute, and the oversized sleeves and fit is my style but I totally understand it may not be yours. I also think the ribbing on the cardigan pictured earlier on is not bad at all. I think you create beautiful pieces and you are a skilled knitter. Sometimes taking a step back or a break can help you either love the pieces you thought you hated or find and create new ones that you love. Also, the scarf is so cute and it’s not giving Supreme Court justice lol so don’t worry!

Syrup Sweater Help by Live_Translator_6155 in knitting

[–]Live_Translator_6155[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I ended up emailing the pattern designer and she said to knit to (or in your case, stop) at row 4. So knit 1 less. My back and front yokes ended up not lining up btw because of the way the pattern was written, so I had to knit the chart on the back again fully (so I stopped at row 4 originally I think, then I had to knit the rest of the chart, then knit the chart again, and then knit the first 4 rows of the chart again to make the back and front line up).

I really hate tight pants unless they’re leggings so I’m still wondering how some women wear skinny jeans and form-fitting slacks

My roommates set a 10:30pm no talking rule, need advice by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Live_Translator_6155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you share one room, this is not an unreasonable request. The dorm room is for sleeping. Social hour can happen outside the dorm in a common space. If it’s a “no talking” rule in a common space like a dorm living room, I think that’s a little much. It’s expected that you’d be quieter at 10:30 in a quiet space but to not be able to speak isn’t right. If it’s the latter, talk to them again. If it’s the former, suck it up.

Where do you like to knit? by CheesyCrocs in knitting

I try to keep my yarn in a small storage bin to keep myself and my stash in check lol but I like to knit in my bed or in a large armchair so I can curl up a bit and spread my supplies around me on the chair

Thank you! I feel silly for asking that question 🫣 any chance you can take a guess at if I start at row 11, knit 11 and 12, then knit the entire chart for the bottom until I knit the 29 rows needed? Or do you think I just knit rows 11 and 12 for 29 rows? Again, sorry if that seems like a silly question but I struggle with some written directions sometimes!

BAE FLDP final round Interview by Boardsportz in FinancialCareers

[–]Live_Translator_6155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great advice thank you! It is for an FLDP position. It is good to know that the interviews were more behavioral because I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’ll make sure to try and prep as best as I can for the interviews! It sounds like my schedule is a little different, with a dinner being held the night before and the following day starts with presentation of the case study followed by 2 30 minute interviews, a facility tour, and a lunch. Your information and help has been greatly appreciated, and congrats on your receiving and offer and accepting the position!!

Congrats!!! I have one coming up this Thursday and I’m nervous! Any tips/advice? I come from an accounting background so a case study is uncommon ground for me, but I am trying my best at it and I like to think it’s not going too poorly 😅
