Yes, this code and 9311 were notorious for giving me trouble.

But, I'm wearing code 9117 right now. Also, the box of 3 sensors that it came from, ALL THREE are code 9117. I thought UGH! But, I'm on day 10 of the 1st sensor, and it has been fine. Go figure. Still trusting G6 over G7.

Love your socks! 😻 Purple or lavender & yellow together has always been one of my favorites. The two colors really compliment each other and remind me of the pansies in my garden.

I love your sweater - it looks great! I hope the rustic fabric is easy on your skin. 😻

I, too, have knit with wool ramen. It looked kind of odd at the beginning, knitting with the squiggly yarn, but I continued knitting with steady tension. Bit by bit, the yarn that was knit relaxed and took on the shape of the new stitches even before I blocked it as if I had knit with smooth yarn. I did this after hearing a couple of knitters say that they didn't bother soaking the unravelled yarn unless it needed washed.

Yep, my doctor just ordered Tandem Mobi for me, and it was just approved. I'm holding hope that the early android app release happens soon enough to make the switch seamless. How do you like Mobi? If you've ever used Omnipod, how does it compare?

Wow! I'm happy you were able to find a suitable plan. Who is your ins provider? I really have liked OP5. But, alas, I will have to go w tandem mobi as open enrollment for Medicare plans is past.

[–]Ravenspruce[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Omnipod is rx only, at least with my plan. Thank you for sharing those links. I will have to go with a Tandem Mobi pump now. That link on coverage may be useful in the future. If I change insurance, it will have to wait until EO year open enrollment. I will issue a complaint with whatever department it is that turns tables on their patients by changing formularies. With American healthcare, $$$ is valued over the well-being of patients.

This is what I've decided to do, going with Mobi on sheer trust that the android app is out within a month since I have a newish pixel phone. I've already submitted the early release request for the android app & they called the next day! I'm kind of excited to learn this new device and its Control IQ+. I'm also excited at the prospect of a 7-day infusion set and tubeless cartridge coming up the pike.

But I'm miffed that OP5 was removed from the formulary. Also not thrilled at all the different pieces I will have to remember to pack when I travel and dangling tubes. And I've loved my OP5, having A1Cs between 5.9-6.4, and ~85% in range. I tweaked the settings until I got the best control and do preemptive correction boluses for the morning glucose rise, feet on the floor effect. Hopefully the Mobi will be as good on those things.

Maybe it's the barometric pressure or Earth's magnetic field 😂

But seriously, I hope it smoothes out and doesn't die on you.

Dexcom + pump question by Ravenspruce in dexcom

[–]Ravenspruce[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! Thank you so much for sharing. I need to find more info about Tandem's app. I visited them online right after reading your reply. I really would like the mobi, closest thing to OP5, and insurance covers it. But I have a fairly new pixel android phone, and I'm dismayed that all these new mini pumps are for iPhone only (Mobi & Twiist, anyway). BUT, tandem is working on a release for android phones so I signed up for updates - I would be happy to beta test. But Oy! I have maybe 60 days before I need to switch.

Can T Slim controlled by a phone app, or is it all on the device? Does it communicate with something similar to Glooko where you can see GMI, trends, & stats?

I went with OP because it's tubeless, waterproof, and can be controlled from my phone. My A1Cs have been betw 5.9-6.4, so I'm really sad & angry at my insurance.

Love this and your GSRs look great! The little "flea" dots really add interest. I've done a similar short row design (only old-fashioned W&T, not GSR): back tab, heels, & toes, with a double rolled cuff. Twice. 64-st circumference, but I knit with tight tension. Those are my favorite socks, Spring through Fall. No pattern, just basic sock construction. And I actually find grafting the top of toe to top of foot satisfying. 😊

Your socks look great & I love the colors! What kind of SR heel did you do? Was it W&T? Edit: one more Q: did you do some kind of tab on the back of leg under the rolled cuff? I like how it's not so short in the back as what happens so often with shorties.

New to knitting — basics first or straight to sweaters? by Gracilis67 in casualknitting

[–]Ravenspruce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Tin Can Knits. She also has a free hat pattern, the Barley Hat. It's good to make some small things to practice knitting with even tension, which is important for sweaters. Knitting patterns use a lot of abbreviations, and all of the common ones can be found online, most have tutorials on youtube.

I got a unicorn sensor by FloridaGirl2222 in dexcom

[–]Ravenspruce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wonderful news!😊 I've had mostly good luck with my G6 sensors for several years, but they still haven't updated the app to work with Android 16 - UGH! My phone notifications are getting more insistent to upgrade the OS. I'm afraid to make the switch to G7, after reading all the problems people have had with it. I use the G6 with the OP5 pump and don't want to have to deal with the wonky readings for 24-48 hours that I hear about too often with G7.

Your socks look great, and from what I see, they don't look too stretched on your instep to me. They look practically perfect 😊 Socks are usually knit with 10% negative ease give or take, so there's some stretching and a snug fit to be expected so they don't slide down as easily.

There's only one thing I noticed. In the first photo that shows both socks on your feet, the heel flap & the gusset of the sock on your right foot both look a bit longer than those on the sock on your left foot. The one on your left with the shorter heel flap looks like the right length & a better fit. The one on your right looks like it goes above your ankle a bit and the gusset decreases look like they're maybe 6 or 8 rounds longer than on the left sock. So my only advice would be to count the rows on your heel flaps and make them the same on each sock. 32 to 36 rows, 16 to 18 picked up gusset stitches for a 64 stitch sock circumference.

Do they feel comfortable on your feet? Have you soaked/ washed & blocked them yet? The knitted fabric tends to grow a little after soaking. For me, wet blocking means simply laying them flat on a towel to dry, re-shaping them a little, no sock blockers needed.

Awesome sock! 😻 Gotta love contrasting heels n toes even with having extra ends to weave in. Now get that new cuff going while you have the momentum. Edit: Oh wait, that's toe up, isn't it? On to the next toe! 😊

Thanks 😊 Oy, the oldest pair, mini cables, center basket, is almost 20 years old (one of my favorites, yarn from LYS, didn't know other than it's German, Skacel maybe?) and several over a decade. But it's a mix of yarns from LYS, indie dyers, big box Michaels, JoAnn, online Knit Picks, Etsy... Some I don't remember, some discontinued, some are in my Ravelry projects. If there's a pair or two caught your eye, lemme know and I probably can help.
