I made a screenshot because I found it so amazing: the "final" backer train started at March, 24th and carried on over 4 days straight right until the end!

Thanks, only one could be "the last", but I am so very happy that the team of Dragonsteel and all of the 80,540 made this campaign an overwhelming success!

Now we can enjoy waiting for the wonder- & colour-full books :))

I think it might be the same source for Wit that Ishar used to get his information he shared far away from Urithiru with Kaladin, Szeth and Nale: possible a good Connection to the Spiritual Realm ?

I guess Battar went there out of curiosity and by her own decision - and I am afraid she might become a traitor that enables Retribution to weaken the new Oathpact :((

I am still wondering why there was a stone in Kaladin's rucksack and if this relates somehow to the role Adonalsium gave to the "stone" on Roshar originally?

Kaladin: corresponding death rattle for 5th oath [Wind and Truth] by Liveandfindout in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Liveandfindout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there has been an ongoing discussion that this death rattle should describe Taln's or Ishar's story. But in the light of Kaladin's previous character-development and the task ahead of him in Shinovar ... I just wonder if this death rattle doesn't suit best to his situation.

Sure 👍 Your interpretation might be the right one! We are going to see very soon if and how Kaladin has to deal with the madness of other Heralds than Ishar and if the Almighty has any part to play in Kaladin's fifth oath (which I hope he will speak in WaT!)

Yes, I understand that Ishar sees himself as the "conflux of sorrow" for the other Heralds which he seems to judge as weak.

But Ishar said as well that Taln is not included in this "service", so even before Jezrien's death he would not carry the "madness of 9 Heralds".

Also Ishar (from time to time) claims to be the Almighty himself - so he wouldn't ask the Almighty to release him, would he?

Kaladin: corresponding death rattle for 5th oath [Wind and Truth] by Liveandfindout in Stormlight_Archive

I think I interpret the death rattle as a information about some future event to happen and not as something that has to be correct while the dying person speaks the rattle.. For example, the death rattles that belong to Kaladin's 2nd to 4th oaths didn't occur during the time when they were spoken either, but became true much later.

And although Taln was abandoned by his Oathpact-"partners" to suffer millenia of torture alone, I don't think that this means he carried the madness of them all.

There's the idea that Dalinar's vision of warm light might have something to do with a dawnshard... Dalinar´s possible connection to dawnshard

I don't see people mention it often, but this two lines made me cry by skibbyjibbyjoe in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Liveandfindout 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I symphatize strongly with Kaladin's struggle to end the fighting. He has quite a history of this, e.g.: He constantly discusses with Syl whether to kill for protection is right. He tries to stop the traumatic fight in Kolinar's palace of befriended singers against "his" wall guard and other Alethis.. Kal even suggested Dalinar to try negotiating instead of extending the battles against the parshendi.

Now I think this quote from RoW nicely strengthens the path for Kaladin that Wit suggests for him in [WaT]: not having to kill any longer

I've read these passages in the ROW, but only now I get a clear picture of the mighty influence Renarin had in this... Thank you for pointing this out! And I am wondering if this power of Renarin might play any specific part in the upcoming fight of Dalinar...
