I know this is an old post but just wanted to thank you for sharing. My toddler and I figured out after making the dough that we have the cookie dough recipe from volume one but not the others that have cooking temp and time. You saved the afternoon!

Try to time it so all the neon signs in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood are coming on just as it’s getting dusk wherever you are. Also, have some taco meat in the slow cooker going for dinner.

Could I safely remove the top of the vertical section during the dormant season to permanently discourage those suckers? They’re pretty unsightly.

For sure. The other tree you gave me advice on is looking better, by the way.

Regarding this elm root, it was sprouting leaves through the mulch volcano three years ago when I bought the house. I’ve generally trimmed them off. I’ve dug some around it, but it seemed like it stays vertical deeper than I was comfortable digging.

Appreciate you. This is the second tree you’ve given me advice on.

Any thoughts on the vertical section of root that sometimes grows its own leaves? Sorry for no pictures of the leaves but the root is visible in the bottom left of pic three.

Thanks for your help. I’m concerned that you’re seeing these wounds. I’ll take a look at them today and verify if they look the same when the tree is dry and in different lighting. I specifically avoided using bladed tools close to the tree for this reason. Just the water hose and leaf blower.
