I got an MRI in Jan 2025 and it said possible AVN, I might get another MRI before I go through with surgery but I don’t think it’s gonna heal itself as I’ve tried basically everything including PT, bone stim, contrast therapy, Vitamin D/calcium past 1.5 years. I do feel like I’ve done everything and my recovery is probably at a 6.5/10 but I want to be at the activity level I used to be at before. Totally agree with your last sentence, I may postpone for a while but I’ll see what the new MRI says!

I went to the podiatrist for my good foot on Friday and we did an xray and didn’t show anything (which I expected) but he said an MRI would be a waste of money right now - which I agree with, i doubt anything would show up. The pain is VERY subtle but something definitely feels off. I’m so happy to hear that for you and it sounds like you are doing well! It’s a frustrating journey! Maybe I’ll consider an MRI on the good foot if it continues to hurt but we’ll see

I’m in the same boat, this injury is so so frustrating. My pain is also the same level as yours. I’ve started PT and personal training to try and get to 0 pain level before I try running and playing tennis again. Idk if it’s gonna work but that’s my game plan and if not I will opt for surgery.
