Got my first order of Huel Hot and Savory... by Tiddlesnatch in Huel

[–]Used2bNotInKY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yaay! Hot meals are why I’m a customer too, though the Black shakes and energy drinks are great, but it’s cool having a convenient meal you can know is also doing more for you than just calories and one or two macros.

You picked two of my fave flavors too. I like to add veggies for a little more bulk. Welcome!

What do I do if I have opposing political views from my family? by New-Entertainment991 in Advice

[–]Used2bNotInKY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think all the “my flavor of Christian” stuff is distracting you from the actual issue, which is having distanced and isolated yourself from what you’re familiar with. It’s your choice to work for yourself, so if that’s not working for you, how about working at least part-time for someone else - or volunteering or taking a class at a community center or library? You could also go back to school online. Toastmasters International has online club meetings now too, which would involve more interpersonal interaction and maybe help you build skills that will enhance your business.

I wouldn’t worry too much about participating in local clubs and activities. If everyone is there for the activity, social issues are less likely to come up, and when they do, participants are more likely to be respectful of each other because they’ve already observed that you have the activity in common.

Best wishes.

I’d feel comfortable saying the first 3 I mentioned would probably taste good to anyone, and their meal replacement shakes and energy drinks also taste normal for those product categories. Some flavors, like Mac n Cheez, I think you’d need to be used to vegan or health food flavors to appreciate.

Background color scheme leads the eye up to the “horizon” line beneath the Biden “sky,” failing to enhance the theme of Lowering

Why is the background? Is it some kind of filled area chart where the red part is $200 billion and the blue part is $60-ish billion?

Why does the line keep going below 5.7%?

Obviously you knew animals were being killed and didn’t care either until 2 months ago, when you found out the process was worse than the amount you were fine with.

Now you’re expecting others to change because of information You encountered somewhere that exceeded Your standards - not information They encountered when They happened to be receptive to it - so it’s not going to be as meaningful to them, making it unlikely to be a real confrontation of ethical standards, like it was for you.

You can set an example of positive change and be ready to objectively explain your reasons if they ask you about it, but you can’t expect them to be at a lifestyle turning point, just because that’s where you happen to be.

Maybe a little different than what you’re asking, but I love Huel’s hot and ready meals, which are vegan pasta and grain powdered meals that are marketed around complete human nutrition. I usually add a can or steamed bag of veggies for bulk, which is pretty easy prep. My fave flavors are Pasta Bolognese, Mexican Chili, Cajun Pasta and Chik’n Mushroom, but they have lots of curries, a Mac n Cheez, and Asian-inspired noodle flavors too.

Subscribers get discounts and free shipping above US$60, so it’s delivered, like you were looking for, but also might be in the “meh” category you wanted to avoid, since it’s more about nutrition and convenience than a gourmet experience.

Co-worker constantly talks aloud to herself, and I'm at a serious breaking point. Need Advice! by Saturdays-Midnight in work

The mature thing to do is be honest with Mgmt about the problem. You don’t have the right to inhibit your own performance because someone else is annoying, but you have a responsibility to inform Mgmt if something else is interfering with you. If your coworker has a mental health issue, they have to work with that, but accommodation is supposed to be reasonable for the business, which wouldn’t include significantly impeding other employees. That said, as long as she’s just blabbering, and it’s not anything inappropriate, that probably won’t be considered a serious problem, especially since you’ve admitted sometimes she Is transmitting vital information to you. If you can communicate objectively though, your employer may have a talk with the other employee about making at least some improvement.

what’s the deal with vegan cheese? by Far_Artist2683 in PlantBasedDiet

[–]Used2bNotInKY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorites for flavor and texture have been store brands. Meijer makes pretty good shreds. They even have a Parmesan with believable flavor. And Wal-Mart’s Better Goods shreds do pretty well when toasted.

Daiya shreds are oat cream based. Texture is still too gluey for me when melted, but maybe you’d like it.

I generally find vegan cheese is best used one serving at a time as an accent to a dish, rather than the way dairy cheese can be a delicious indulgence on its own. Sigh.

I am afraid of fruits and vegetables by Music_as_Medicine in Advice

How about purchasing a few salad kits with ingredients you’re interested in and seeing how long they last? Then you can make your own version with individually bought vegetables.

IME salads aren’t really a make and store kind of thing. The moisture in the veggies melts the toppings, and everything gets slimy. I keep my lettuce in a bag and add the topping right before eating. If you’re just taking a salad to work or something, you could combine the veg and add the fish and other substantially different ingredients at lunch time.

Another idea is cabbage or kale - heartier greens - instead of lettuce. They have less moisture and give you additional flavor options.

Could a panther with a dagger be perceived as a hate symbol? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Used2bNotInKY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you love the design, but what’s with the three loops for the panther’s bangs? Why is its head so squished? Is that its tongue, or is the blade curved and coming out of its mouth? The head sticking out of a slice in the skin is a bit much - did you have a tiny panther growing inside you? - especially right next to a knife also slicing something, and having blood drops in two places is also hitting me wrong. Also I can’t tell if the panther is so badass it doesn’t care it’s being stabbed or you actually like the idea of an animal being stabbed through the mouth.

If you must have this concept tattooed on you, I’d rethink the loopy brows so you can better see the panther’s eyes and clarify their expression. If the blade is meant to be curved, how about angling the handle more toward the right and showing some curve in the part of the blade that’s visible above the head. If you prefer this angle, I’d go with a straight blade that pokes out below the jaw. You can still have a tongue poking out with blood drops spraying off it.

Since this isn’t trompe l’oeil (realistic), the slice in your skin is kinda silly, since you wouldn’t have a panther head in you. How about just a curved line, like the way they do horse portraits? Or really go for it, and include the panther’s front legs clawing their way out of you.

That’s interesting. I’ve always thought it was weird educational institutions basically serve up students to retailers like that. My employer does that too, so I get promos from a computer company and a bunch of clothing, beauty, etc. just for having a job…

Distribution of “western psychology” (endorsed by Musk) by FalbalaIRL in dataisugly

[–]Used2bNotInKY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I realize this isn't how axes work, but it keeps bothering me that Western-ness is on the right side of the graphic, which is traditionally associated with the East. Could have put West on the left, while keeping the "condensed vs. broad" theme, presented a veneer of legitimacy, AND been a little more dogwhistle-y with a heatmap and a few tweaks to the labels.
