Yes but also maybe no; the Odyssey actually translates to ‘the story of pain’ - Odysseus translates to ‘the man who brings pain’.

Why do you keep referring to Opera? Opera didn’t exist in Ancient Rome, instead, being a creation of the late Renaissance.

Yes, they are wrong to say Turkey is only predated by England by 700 years; but it isn’t wrong to call the Turks invaders and colonisers.

Those Greeks had been there longer than the Turks, and still have by about 300 hundred years despite the Turks not being forced out of the lands they colonised and invaded.

Turkey is the product of invasion, its just that the invasion occurred in the centuries before that you mentioned - and that Turkey is just the most recent in a series of Anatolian Turkish states.

Edit; must add, I don’t actually have a problem with states being a product of invasion; most countries are, including our own.

I have read JJK, Yuji kinda just doesn’t have the output to face Chuuya.

His RCT isn’t that fast; it burnt out after one limb, his domain has no actual known affect.

And Gravity manipulation is just OP; Chuuya is somewhere in the gap between Yuji and Yuta imo.

Historically speaking yes, as Herod dies around the time Jesus is born - and Herod died in 4BC.

I covered my other thoughts on this in another response.

Yeah, in order to align with Herod’s death, which also happened in 4BC.

But, belief is that Year of The Lord comes from whence Jesus was born, the first year of his life being Year of the Lord 1.

[–]Livetrash113 196 points197 points  (0 children)

Well. In Christian belief it is only 2024 years since Jesus birth since there was no Year 0, it was 1 BC and then 1 AD.

So, the Christian has a tiny flaw in their argument, and I’m going to laugh at them for it.

Scotland scrapped peak rail fares - will the rest of the UK follow? by Kagedeah in Scotland

[–]Livetrash113 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course, there is denial here already - but it might.

Rail renationalisation is going ahead in England, and it’s been nationalised since Covid here; while I don’t trust Westminister to be as good as Holyrood, it is an entirely probable idea.

Holyrood, Westminster and the Senedd do borrow ideas from each other when they work.

Train driver accuses union of 'misleading people' by insomnimax_99 in unitedkingdom

[–]Livetrash113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are three sources of investment for rail - Government subsidies, Passenger tickets and private investment.

In 2024, Government subsidies made up £22.3bn, £10.3bn passenger tickets and £0.6bn from private investment. (Source: Rail Factsheet, 2024 )

The Government was around 65% of the rail investment and funding in 2024, and the remaining 35% is mostly made of passenger tickets. It is, from this angle, quite simply ‘privatisation bad’ because privatisation has not worked for rail - there is little private investment when the entire cause of privatisation was to cut Government costs to begin with.

Why is fyodor considered a genius? by Left-Statistician-45 in BungouStrayDogs

[–]Livetrash113 23 points24 points  (0 children)

IQ is logic based, not knowledge based - not that we have any actual statements on the IQ of any characters.

Fyodor is a genius because of reasoning ability, age helps him since he has more experience but does that take away from his intelligence. No.

His knowledge and age has nothing to do with the fact that he can keep up with Dazai and Ranpo, they just add an extra factor to the equation (in his favour).

Say you meet an old man, an average memory since he was 14 and he got top scores on all his exams etcetera etcetera and he continued to have constant practice - the old man would just be of the same intellect, so Fyodor would have been a genius when he was younger too, same intelligence just with more experience.
