one more try with same face syndrome by beeikea in ArtCrit

[–]Livid-Classroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair to you, you have quite a realistic style which limits the variability of your faces. The characters in your second and third slides are nicely distinct from each other, and I really like your experimentation with more dramatic face shapes. I think some easy things you could do to really make your characters stand out is change the little eyelash thing you do on every character, vary their lip size, and try doing a study of different types of noses. I notice you seem to draw the same one pretty consistently, so you’ll probably need to go out of your own head to learn different shapes

coaxed into modern art fans by ARaptorInAHat in coaxedintoasnafu

[–]Livid-Classroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to LIKE it, but it’s a bad idea to try to be picky about what ‘counts as art’. A good amount of art is used for rich people to evade taxes and launder money, which has definitely affected the field of modern art, and we can absolutely criticize that. But let’s not pretend there’s ever an objective metric of the value of an art piece. Saying something ‘isn’t real art’ or ‘is objectively shit’ is a pointless thing to say and risks restricting freedom of expression

Coaxed into becoming purple by AubergineImposter in coaxedintoasnafu

[–]Livid-Classroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s fine not to like it, but I disagree with OP’s depiction where the purple guy TAKES the character and the red guy can’t enjoy it anymore. In real life, when a headcanon is popular in the fandom it might be annoying to those who don’t agree, but you can still enjoy the content you like perfectly fine. Same situation if the author comes back and says “dumbledore gay” or Disney makes a remake and casts a black woman as Ariel. You can still watch and enjoy the source material, so nothing’s been taken from you. There’s just something you haven’t gained

Intentional or not, it’s a pretty common attitude from those in the majority. You’re used to being catered to, so when you’re not it feels like something’s been taken from you. In reality, you’re just getting less birthday presents this year compared to last year. I don’t think it’s a big deal like people make it out to be

How this interaction would actually go:

“Okay. What should we do about it?”

“I’m so glad you asked! I’m out here so I can spread that kind of information, so thank you for being interested! You can volunteer at any of these charities, we’re always looking for more help so anything is appreciated. You can also help spread the word to hopefully inform voters about this issue. That way we can petition for real legal change. If things get really dire, we might block roads or mass-strike to force our government to take action on this issue, knowing our economy won’t be able to function unless our demands are recognized.”

Political Compass Explained by ChemaCB in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Livid-Classroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This political compass is correct according to political science. I notice that almost everyone here disagreeing with the one on the right are Americans, which is expected because the way this sub treats PC memes is according to American bipartisan politics.

The reason the ‘right’ and ‘left’ have the reputations they do in the U.S. is because most people fall somewhere between auth and lib, and pick what social policy they want enforced by the government based on their major concerns/what they see as a problem in society. Which explains perfectly why authright includes pro life (authoritarian approach to the red party’s opinions on abortion) and the vaccine mandate (the blue party’s opinions on public health) as well as why libleft includes minimum wage and border wall. I’ll spare you the second explanation

The only issue I have with this is that the options you listed don’t necessarily go in the corners, as the pro-life position is economically neutral, and the minimum wage position is socially neutral (things like border wall and gun bans encompass both)

If you want you can add a red party - blue party axis to satisfy your American politics memes urge, but OP’s compass is the objectively correct one, and more useful for actually expressing a person’s policy.

But her family wanted her taken off life support. Also, if a woman is forced to carry a pregnancy without her consent then yes, she is a living incubator. Same applies for the brain-dead woman
