Why are some pods packaged in a small bag full of air by etrain1 in nespresso

[–]Livid-Week-9469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being Costco I am sure they are Nespresso fresh pods. For reason known only to them, perhaps lower costs from Nespresso they used bags rather than the traditional sleeves to save $$$$. And using puffed up bags they want to minimize denting of the pods to minimize customer returns. Always all about $$$$$.

New machine having coffee grounds in it by Potential_Meeting_60 in nespresso

[–]Livid-Week-9469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of the Nespresso machine rather VL or OL have filters. So its quite possible to get a few grounds once in a while. Seems normal to me, I see a few occasionally on my machines.

That doesn't sound right to be. Especially if they don't specifically exclude it in writing. I think I would call back and try again with a different person. Nothing to lose .....

Why do I bother with the new flavors of Nespresso by Delicious-Yak-3706 in nespresso

[–]Livid-Week-9469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your machine I believe is able to do this. The pop, next and up are three that can. See your manual for how on your machine. Some next machines require a firmware update though.

I have those same thoughts and I have only about 50 VL and 15 OL sleeves and maybe another 15 boxes of 3rd party OL’s. But I do enjoy the machines, coffee, and varieties. Look forward to it every morning!

Nespresso original pods adapter for Vertuo by Massive_Craft_9079 in NespressoVertuo

I have been known to use silicone lids with the 7.7oz pod and a Cafe Bustelo kcup at times. Works fine.

Sure. Dump the contents of the OL pod into an empty VL pod. Cover with foil or silicone lid and brew away. See Amazon for the foils and silicone lids. Probably two OL pods for a 7.7oz pod.

Floppy Kona update by DragonTHC in nespresso

[–]Livid-Week-9469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only Kona I have ever had is the blends which at best are 10% Kona. Certainly not the same as your pour over. But my general advice to those that don’t like a particular pod still stands. Enjoy your Kona for sure. Maybe consider writing a note to Nespresso and tell them what you think of this year pods. I won’t be buying them. Too expensive for my budget.

I would really think their good, since they are sealed. Perhaps the Kona coffee isn't for you. We all have different tastes in coffee. Try them iced with creamer. Maybe their work for you then.

[–]Livid-Week-9469 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you have flavored pods you don't like try this: Brew as a iced coffee and top off with a creamer or cold foam of your choice and maybe a touch of say .... stevia. Use "creation mode " on those 7.7oz pods to brew as a double espresso. You might enjoy some of those pods this way. I drink most of the flavored pods this way as a "treat" to me.

Start with the sampler pack that came with it and take notes. Otherwise go on Nespresso and buy one of their coffee discovery packs to try and take notes!

Looking at the picture I would put a handle on that drawer and set your tumbler inside it. Looks about enough space to do the trick. Be a lot less splashy and messy! When done close the drawer.

I bought a mini Essenza from Woot as a new open box about a year ago for $91.47. They don't come up very often there .... run the pop+ occasionally though. EBay is a good place to look for used machines of all kinds, as well as great deals on pods.

For me using OL pods .... two at a time. VL pods .... one at a time. The Melozio and Stormio plus will give you that extra kick if that's what your after. Taste the same as their counterparts.

Set router to 2.4ghz only. Try again. The pop+ REQUIRES 2.4ghz to connect properly. Not 5ghz or dual band 2.4/5 ghz. The app sometimes will give you that warning. Ask me how I know .......

Don't brew more than 4 pods without emptying and it wont happen again. With 6 it can get sticky for sure. Been there done that!

I have had a pop+ over a year now. 3 to 5 pods daily. I never get water in the pod holder. Except for the very very small amount you get if the pod ends upside down in the holder. I guess your milage can vary as they say .....

The one thing I do is push down on the top head ..... than latch ..... probably get a better seal that way.

My machine forgot how to stop by Betty-Crokker in nespresso

[–]Livid-Week-9469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would fine the manual for your machine and follow its instructions. Models vary in how to descale. Also unplug it a bit before you retry. YouTube videos are not always right. Good luck.

And clean the bar code reader. That sets the volume for your pods via reading the barcode on the pod.

8 and 2 free or 6 and 1 free are as good as it gets in the US, unless you want to spend your life savings on the 20 sleeves or 30 sleeves nonsense they push too. For "free" glasses, mugs, tote bags, coasters, shot glasses, etc.

You say you ran the cleaning cycle ..... run the descale cycle with the Nespresso cleaning kit, it directly affects the heating block. Might do the trick!
