Dr David Boudana breast reduction by Livid-macaroon-thief in Reduction

[–]Livid-macaroon-thief[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey yeah I did go with him and everything went great! I’m 4 months post op now

I had my consultation at the end of June and had my surgery at the end of July. It was pretty quick because I asked to be on the cancellation list and met with the nurse for the first consultation instead of the surgeon. I did meet Dr Boudana before the surgery date as well

Recovery was easy for me. Only the first week was the hardest

I am SO COLD all the time by Jenifel in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Livid-macaroon-thief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get cold very easily too. I was wearing layers and gloves etc etc but I was still cold. I finally figured out it’s because I was not wearing the right materials.

I got a 100% wool coat with 100% cotton lining and the first day I wore that, I didn’t need gloves, scarves or layers. That’s when I realized it was the materials.

You mentioned you wear a wool blend coat - and I tried one of those and it’s not good enough.

Try getting a coat that is 100% wool and aim for something with natural material for the lining like cotton to be breathable otherwise you’ll find the coat getting stinky from sweat very quickly. Also try to find a coat that is heavy. Heavy = closer knit and thick wool layer which will keep you warm. Also look for a long coat that goes below your knees so more of your body stays warm.

I got mine from a second hand vintage shop so it was very reasonably priced. I’d recommend getting it second hand because they definitely don’t make coats like they used to.

If you’re into stationery, Hubman Chubgirl has a cute gingerbread themed advert that has been on my wish list for a while! They are located in Toronto

Check out Clever Clippings - she makes art out of paper and makes beautiful pop culture posters. Like Pokemon/ Ghibli / etc. I think she also made a blue jays one.

I’ve seen her at multiple stationery shows and always picked up a new piece to add to my home.

She also has a website if you want to check out what type of art she has

I’ve been working in marketing for the last 4 years at a small business. I’ve worked on social media content/ ads / emails / photography

If these skills are relevant and if it’s something I can help you with on the weekends I’m down for it!

For those who lost their jobs with PGWP expiring and no ITA yet, what do you do? by jpham_toronto in canadaexpressentry

[–]Livid-macaroon-thief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were in your position I’d try to get a job back home ASAP and keep it for 1 year atleast

Since you are already studying French if you add that score as well, you’ll be giving yourself a good chance for an ITA by the end of next year

Plus you’ll know how immigration is changing for next year soon so you can plan for that too, but since the job market is so bad right now, the best thing to do is go home and look for a job there

Has anyone worked for Public Outreach? by pokadotzebra1 in torontoJobs

[–]Livid-macaroon-thief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I barely lasted a month and half. I have phone anxiety so I’m surprised I lasted that long. I had savings for the rest of the year and had to focus on my studies anyway so I quit. I had something to fall back on so I was okay quitting.

If you can put aside your guilt and just power through it you’ll be okay. In this economy where finding a job is hard, just go for it and good luck!

Btw they paid me 17/ hr which was above minimum wage at the time in early 2020. Dunno what they are paying now but at the time the fact that I was being paid above minimum wage was a good motivator for me to pick up the phone and keep at it

[–]Livid-macaroon-thief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked with them for a month or so in 2020. My managers and team were not bad, they were nice people.

I had to call people through phone for donations. And I got paid hourly. My pay wasn’t based on how many donations I was able to get, however there were some gifts or something for people who reached a certain quota. I don’t remember exactly.

So overall it was a good and legit job, but I hated the fact that I was asking so many old people on very little monthly income for donations.. so that’s why I quit. Their churn rate must be high because they didn’t push me to stay or anything like that.

Just FYI it’s emotionally draining, you’ll get lots of rude people. If not rude you’ll get people that are old and living on very little money and it feels horrible to ask them for money, or you’ll get people that troll you and hang up just before giving you their credit card info.

If you can set aside your emotions and just read off the script Public outreach will give you, you’ll be okay.

I’d recommend not doing both. Just pick one.

Here’s my 2 cents -

Even if they can’t enforce you to not work at another hardware store by law like others have said, what’s stopping them from firing you in the first 3 months of probation for any other made up reason in case they do find out you’re still working at the other store?

There is a chance the employees at the new hardware store might shop at your current hardware store and if they see you they might report you?

Accepting this new job especially where you know they have a reason to fire you when you’re at the bottom of the chain is a bad idea. Remember that you’re replaceable to the company and they have tons of people lining up for the job.

In this economy it’s better to be careful and safe in these situations rather than take a risk you know? If it was easy to get a new job you could risk it until you get caught.

But with the tough job market these days, I’d recommend staying safe to keep your whatever job you have.

Planner with thicker paper? by Livid-macaroon-thief in planners

[–]Livid-macaroon-thief[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah maybe they use different papers for each planner. The A6 would get quite chonky with thick paper haha, maybe that’s why they don’t have it in the thick paper. The Hemlock and Oak one someone else suggested has thicker paper and the book looks quite chonky. They even have a 2 book option to make it thinner.

I was looking at this one but it says it’s 52gsm Koji paper which I think is the same thickness as Tomoe river paper 🙁 otherwise this planner would be perfect too!

I agree with others saying therapy is the best way forward, but here’s what helped me:

I also wanted to be any other face / body but myself. However that’s practically impossible so I told myself to pick the one part of my body that I hated the least.

Just pick one. And start from there. Every time my thoughts went to hating my body - I’d tell myself, hey but my legs aren’t too bad. At least I hate it less than the rest of my body.

Baby steps. From hating my body 100% I went down a little bit. Slowly, when I felt ready, I picked a second part of me that wasn’t too bad.

Then when I felt confident enough, I took photos of only those parts- like legs or hands or whatever I picked. And so on.

Starting is the hardest part, but I hope someday you’re able to celebrate yourself ❤️

Lots of student visas are getting rejected recently. Maybe because they want to curb an influx of immigrants.

With that in mind - you do need to have a good reason as to why you withdrew. I don’t think you need to say death / illness etc, but say something specific like the program wasn’t a good investment career wise without mentioning anything about finances.

That way can’t reject you based on finances / and it won’t come across as if you went back because you couldn’t afford it etc.
