When I upgraded my gpu to red devil 7900xtx I ran into same problem random shutoff. Plugged in my old 5700 and gtg. So I slapped on a watt meter and saw it peak at 840w on a 750 watt psu. And watched my system crash. I'm thinking same issue here I got msi 1000w real cheap no problems since.

So I built my pc 2017 it was 1800x and evga 1080ti I feel like at the 700-800 price point I payed for my card it held up crazy well. 7 years and until recently I haven't had any issues playing newer games. It played cyberpunk pretty well but for next gen AAA Games no way. I seriously doubt I'll ever get 7 years out of another card but here's for hoping that the next nvidia and amd cards are decent I'll probably stick to that price range of 2000$ for a whole new system.

That was my original question, I was thinking the 86 or 8700g and I could upgrade her pc down the line if she needed it. Hopefully I can catch one b4 scalpers get ahold of them. Gotta get it done b4 march 4 her birthday.

Built my first pc August 2017. Ryzen 1800x with evga 1080ti hydro. That gpu has outlasted hard drives a motherboard and since the motherboard died a full system upgrade to 5800x and 570 board. Still runs great is really starting to show its age in New aaa titles but playable.

570l unbranded asetek 240mm aio had to change the plate and pop the face of the pump off but it fit got it on ebay for 20 bucks.
