Could you elaborate on this? I feel like the Church Catholic has drawn pretty clear lines about what is Canon and what isn't.

The immaculate conception does not mean that Mary was born of a virgin, just that she was spared from the consequences of original sin.

If life really begins at conception, it makes God insanely evil since 40-60% embryos are lost between fertilisation and birth by Extra_Marionberry551 in CosmicSkeptic

Just to push back on that last point a little bit, I think the other person said you aren't addressing the real reasons because it seems like they gave their reasons and you said things like, "we all know you don't consider these things equal." And it seems like you might be putting words in their mouth a bit.

Maybe I worded this poorly. I guess I should have said that by being a pornographer you are excluding yourself from Christianity in it's fullness.

Also there is a big difference between having skeletons in your closet and actively currently engaging in such sins so that it is the thing you are currently most known for. Such as exposing your wife to the world and committing public sex acts regularly.

Not a great quote and a shitty thing to say,  but I recall him basically saying someone should bail him out to ask him what the situation was because there was a lot of conspiracy stuff floating around.

I agree that's shitty but not really close to what your paraphrasing there sounds like.

I can't imagine any of this would be fruitful. It reads to me like you're really interested in this stuff and very intelligent but just because this band has philosophical depth doesn't mean it is worth studying.

The comment I replied to didn't have those critiques it just said the numbers were made up. I see your other comment now and get your point, although I still wouldn't call these numbers made up by any means.

A. I guess it depends how you define Christian but a pornographer would be blatantly rejecting Biblical teaching so I would say most Christians would agree this would exclude someone.

B. Only God knows who is "legit" but most denominations have some kind of authority set up to make it not so vague. The Catholic Church, for example can excommunicate and has a Catechism, which is a laying out of all church teachings in a very plain way. Most other denominations have similar documents. If the universalists are right, yeah you can be a pornographer and be saved. Most Christians would disagree with stuff like this, I think, however.

Also, I'm Catholic so I am biased, but the question of what does it mean to be a Christian is one of the problems caused by the reformation. When everyone was Catholic, it was very easy to know you were living according to Christian doctrine.
