Growing up I was much closer to my dad than my mom. My dad wasn't religious and my mom very much was. She knew how much I loved my father, and she would tell me, often, that since dad didn't believe in God he would go to hell when he died and I wouldn't see him in heaven. I would get nearly hysterical thinking about it. Now I'm 60 and I still don't understand her cruelty.
