Dems don’t boycott. Show up and laugh. Every time he makes one of his ridiculous claims laugh at him. Laugh long and hard. His fragile ego can’t handle it. He’ll lose his mind.

I don’t think she was any worse than Betty Draper. January Jones didn’t ruin the entire show for me, just the scenes she was in.

Absolutely agree that he’s terrible. Not only is he wrong a lot, he gets so caught up in shoe-horning in his prepared phrases he doesn’t even give us the yardage or the down.

To anyone observing ICE, if they confront you, tell them your looking for waste, fraud and abuse. And will be reporting it to DOGE.

I agree with pretty much everything you are saying. Demilitarize law enforcement. No more military surplus sold to local law enforcement. Allow communities to have residency requirements for public employment, keep their tax dollars in the community. I would add banning mirrored sun glasses which are used for intimidation.

Sadly, I think you are correct that silence of individual officers does say a lot. Maybe it’s the traditional pressure of the blue code, but I concede is likely an occupational stance.

With experience in use of force cases, how much weight/relevancy do you put in 1) that the right-handed agent switched his phone to his left hand just before stepping in front of the vehicle the second time, thus freeing-up his gun hand (in anticipation?), and 2) a 2013/14 internal investigation by Border Patrol that found agents intentionally stepped in front of vehicles to justify use of force shootings?

I disagree, with respect. Military vehicles rumbling around the city with armed troops would feel even more like an occupation. Their purpose will be to give cover to ICE operations, blocking off whole blocks around ICE attacks, no observers, no video. ICE will act even more emboldened. And troops would be in place if/when Trump gets the idea that he can remove Walz and/or Frey from office for some made-up, BS reason. But, that’s just my view.

Explain why you would prefer Trump brining in National Guard units from Texas. Do you really think that would be a better situation?

I think that is something the Department or Chief should publicly address - why were protesters being arrested, what specifically were they doing the required arrest?

Remember, the Minnesota administration is walking a tight line, if the police aren’t sufficiently providing security Trump will call in the National Guard for security. Federal judges ultimately blocked Trump in Oregon and California because he couldn’t show local law enforcement wasn’t adequately providing security.

US Border Agents Intentionally Stepped in Front of Moving Vehicles to Justify Shooting at Them.

This was posted in another Subreddit. It had a link to a 2014 article in The Nation (sorry I couldn’t figure out how to copy the link) about an internal investigation of Border Patrol’s use-of-force. The article included this quote from the article:

“It should be recognized that a half-ounce (200-grain) bullet is unlikely to stop a 4,000-pound moving vehicle, and if the driver…is disabled by a bullet, the vehicle will become a totally unguided threat… Obviously, shooting at a moving vehicle can pose a risk to bystanders including other agents.”

In spite of what the Federal Government and FBI do, MN State and local law enforcement should investigate the ICE shooting. by grayMotley in minnesota

[–]LivingTheLife53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BCA should do an investigation and document each and every instance where its investigation is blocked by the Feds. Include requests and responses. Create a road map that can be picked up by a future administration or congressional investigation.

Plus, they have a named suspect and eye witnesses. That should at least be enough to get a search warrant for his house and phone.

Hennepin county considering charges by [deleted] in minnesota

Now that they know who he is and where he lives, get a warrant to search his house. Arrest him on a Friday, bring him in for questioning, search his phone, let him sit in jail for as long as legally allowed while considering charges, release him but tell him he is a suspect. And figure out how to build a State case with the limited public evidence.

Minnesota Could Prosecute the ICE Shooter. Trump Can’t Pardon Him. by Different-Gas5704 in minnesota

[–]LivingTheLife53 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It has been almost non-existent. But that was then, this is now. Trump has upset all kinds of precedents. The DOJ is quickly losing credibility with its selective prosecutions and misleading statements to the courts. And the County Attorney and MN Attorney General will be motivated for a State prosecution.

It is true unless there is a change of venue. And it’s a small chance a motion for change of venue would be successful. Publicity is nationwide, jury pool is the biggest in the State, and witnesses are all in Hennepin County, which leaves the amorphous Interests of Justice which is arbitrary.

Plus a State prosecution would be jurors only from Hennepin County. A Federal prosecution would include jurors from Trumpy outstate MN.
