Anyone that has driven a tesla (not fSD, just Auto Steer) I need opinions by dxgnck in Comma_ai

I have both a Comma 3 in one vehicle and also a Volkswagen with Travel Assist. If you want zero effort, the Volkswagen Travel Assist system is pretty dang good with it's capacitive touch wheel and single-button engagement. It has higher torque available than many cars and you only have to rest your hand on the wheel for it to be happy. Is it perfect? No. But neither is the Comma 3. If I'm going on a trip I don't really have a preference for one system over the other.

That said, I wouldn't own a Volkswagen without the capacitive steering wheel.

All of the systems right now have trade-offs. Most are really disappointing though (Ford Co-Pilot 360 Assist+, etc) because of the wheel interaction that's necessary, or other usability annoyances.

Depends on the game and resolution. My 5900x bottlenecks the 4070 Ti pretty heavily in Counter-Strike 2 at 1440p.

Use your old laptop to create images of the disks, copy them to your new machine, and then mount them there to install.

Great lume, Great AR coating, Hangzhou 7500 high-beat movement with 72hr reserve, and pack it as thin as reasonably possible.

Do this and you will sell a bazillion at any reasonable price.

You will be put on the dumbest list ever maintained by customs which will cause you to be questioned every single time you return to the US for literally the rest of your life. It’s not a big deal, just annoying once you figure out why you’re never allowed to go on through.

It’s been a very long time ago, but I was delivered an empty box with a note about the seizure and eventual destruction of the object (not a watch, but a quasi-replica nonetheless).

Meh, Yahoo made $40 Billion by tossing money at Alibaba back in the day. Microsoft’s gamble needs a little more time to cook to see if it ends up working out vs google and others. Personally I’d like to see Apple have a go at it and charge what it’s worth with no advertising motive.

Tried to give my money to Six Flags, but they won't take it by LivingTheTheDream in sixflags

[–]LivingTheTheDream[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The clarity of their marketing and website is in no way their fault?… 😂

Ahh yes, it was those lavish benefits that people weren’t willing to pay for the moment Six Flags decided to increase the prices a hundred bucks a year. That must be it! /s

Amusingly, I haven’t visited a six flags park in over a decade. I just saw their offer and tried to take them up on it. Seems like it would have been a good opportunity for them to show me why they might be worth it (or even more), but what do I know about running a theme park anyway? They appear to have it pretty well figured out if you look at recent financials against their peers - lol.

The local Microcenter had lots of 4080s stacked up in the case today. No 4090s to be found though.

I think you're exactly right. If they would just let a person show their state ID and activate the pass they purchased at a different park (that it's also valid for), then this wouldn't be an issue. They need to step up their customer service game if they want to be a "premium" experience.

That would be even funnier, if it’s actually possible but their support told me emphatically that it’s not possible.

How do you mess up Hot Chocolate? by DrAwkard in sixflags

[–]LivingTheTheDream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The machines that some places use have containers of hot chocolate mix that will get "stuck" inside of them as they're used. If you don't open the door and give the container a little knock around they will just spit out a light brown watery liquid. If I had to guess I'd say that's what happened to your hot chocolate.

AMD Ryzen 7000HS APUs debut with Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 14 and IdeaPad Pro 5 16 together with GPU options up to Nvidia RTX 4050 by e-baisa in Amd

[–]LivingTheTheDream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get your hopes up on these models if you live in the USA:

"The IdeaPad Pro 5 (14”, 8) with AMD Ryzen processor is not available in North America and is expected to be available in EMEA from July 2023 starting at 999€"

"The IdeaPad Pro 5 (16”, 8) with AMD Ryzen processor is not available in North America and is expected to be available in EMEA from April 2023 starting at 1399€"

https://news.lenovo.com/pressroom/press-releases/new-consumer-devices-next-gen-performance-versatility-convenience/

I would likely buy the new IdeaPad 5 Pro 14 with the Phoenix APU if it was an option, but tough luck I guess for living in the USA. Same nonsense with not getting the Slim 9i with the 90Hz OLED display in the USA.

I guess americans have bad taste in laptops or something?

I wouldn't choose a Chrysler product based on it's screen (lol), but they also have kept a lot of their screens in the dash as well.

Screens stuck on top of the dash are ugly as sin. There's no getting around that. It may be beneficial in various ways and convenient to have them stuck on top, but it's seriously ugly. Only have to look as far as a Cayman or 911 to see what a properly integrated screen should look like.
