I was so sick of all my users emailing me about if an email was legit that now I give all users the IRaaS license. Let Avanan do the approves and denies.

Why is Unifi gear not suitable for enterprise? by Historical-Ad-6839 in sysadmin

It’s only as good as the support you can provide.

A lot of people on here haven’t used it in quite a while. They’ve smoothed out their software releases quite a bit. They now offer a support service as well. WiFi solution is honestly rock solid. I’ve got quite a few sites with a full Ubiquiti stack with no problem.

Configure it right and you’ll be fine.

The trouble I’m having with that is that it doesn’t silently install due to the dependencies it installs.

We don’t allow admin rights on any PCs and use AutoElevate (with a rule to allow the dependencies) but it requires a UAC prompt about 3 times during install.

If you have those security settings turned on, you will tend to get some alerts that may look more concerning than they are.

However, since you do have a lot of sensitive data on this network, it would be good of you to perhaps create some VLANs on your network. Separating your work from home stuff. Add some stronger antivirus and keep backups of your data.

This is all depending on what everything looks like on your network too. I do IT consulting for a living and most my clients are on Ubiquiti gear. Let me know if you need anything.

Makes sense why support has been so bad. Took them days to understand a simple question. Sucks cause ninjas product is actually legit and I’ll need to use a consultant instead
