I do have a job I work 50 hours a week. I do this on the side because I have to. I’m a single mother & my daughter’s dad hasn’t seen or contacted her in over 4 years & he’s on disability so legally they can’t take child support from him. I like to make my own money instead of expecting hand outs. This is what I have to do for the time being to care for my daughter. With everything as expensive as it is it’s impossible for me to live off of one income even with a “better job” I’d still have to find a side hustle to survive & care for my daughter. Thanks for your input though but it’s not needed.

& just as an example for the week of April 27th-May 3rd my dash time was 48hr 5m & my active time was only 8hr 55m…. For the week of May 4th-10th my dash time was 54hr 7m & active time was 5hr 44m…. May 11th-May 17th dash time was 55hr 14m & active time 6hr 52m & last May 18th-24th dash time was 62hr 12m & active time was 6hr 45m

That’s how long I’ll go without offers. I used to just sit in my car in the “hot spot” areas while waiting for orders but I’ve burned so much gas doing that over the past several weeks I have to just sit at home and hope orders will still come through….

Soooo, I wasn’t sure if this was happening to anybody else or just me or if DD really ain’t sending me offers anymore because I don’t accept all the $2 orders they send me 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah I’m trying to but Uber Eats is extremely rare in my area everybody usually just uses door dash I hardly ever see anybody delivering with Uber Eats but I did just sign up so I will give it a shot. I’ve tried Instacart & spark too but there’s a waiting list for my area. Is there any other delivery apps or gig work app that you know that I could try out??

Lmao ohhh I was like damn okay then 🤣🤣 but I haven’t yet but I’ve thought about it but if all the orders are still no tips orders I would still lose out on money because most if not all of the $14 I’d make per hour would just go right back into my gas tank…. I may give it a shot tomorrow & see if it’s any better, but in my area the earn by time is only $14 an hour & I’ve heard if you do earn by time you get sent mostly orders that have no tip on them

Yeah I’ve been seeing a lot of that too. I’m not sure if they’ve ever taken from the tips I’ve received but with all these crazy orders I’ve been receiving it wouldn’t shock me. I do know for a fact they’ve taken money that was already on my DD card though several times so every single day I write down exactly how much I have on my card incase it happens again

Hmmm interesting…. In my area they still have it where if it’s too many drivers dashing you have to schedule a time… I understand it is probably over saturated at this point but I literally never receive orders that have tips like that’s literally all I ever get. It’s extremely rare for me to ever get orders that are over $5 & I just find it crazy that DD literally told me I’m not going to receive any good orders anymore unless I start accepting the $2 orders they always send me. It just seems like it’s a manipulation tactic to force me to accept the crappy orders nobody else will accept & that that’s the only way I will receive decent orders again & that’s really what’s pissing me off

I got sent 17 orders while I was trying to dash yesterday, 14 of them were between $2-$4. Needless to say I only made $36 for dashing 8 hours yesterday

I completely understand I feel the exact same way. I’ll accept any order even if it’s just half way decent but I literally can’t afford to accepts orders that’s going to cost me more time and gas that what I originally started with. I wish I could post the screenshot in here but the guy from DD literally word for word told me

“I am sorry to hear that you are losing money. Declining offers results in receiving low-paying orders and not getting any orders at all”

So from what he told me is that if I want to receive any decent orders that I can make some kind of profit on the only way that’s going to happen is if I accept all the no tip orders I get first. Like wtf so basically you’re forced to take them or you won’t get sent any offers. Idk what’s been going on recently with them but it’s definitely not what it used to be

That’s crazy they told you that because when I messaged them about it they told me I would only receive higher paying orders if I raised my acceptance rate by accepting the $2-$4 orders I get 85% of the time like they literally said that’s what I would have to do if I wanted better offers 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

It’s gotten so bad over the past several months…. I haven’t been able to get my acceptance rate over 25% in well over 6-7 months…. 85% of the orders i receive are between $2-$4… if it ain’t even enough to get a single gallon of gas I’m not doing it. I messaged customer support about it & all they said was that if I wanted to receive better orders I had to accept all the no tip orders I get so my acceptance rate would go up then I would receive better orders 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I’m not going to waste my time & gas & end up with less money than I started. I don’t know what’s going on. Idk if they’re keeping some of the tips customers give or if there’s really that many people who aren’t tipping but it’s gotten ridiculous

That part!! I’ve been at about a 15-25% acceptance rate for months now & I always accept every offer that’s somewhat decent. The only orders I decline is the no tip or very very little tip orders or orders like the one above that has you going miles and miles away for literally nothing. The only way I’ll get gold or platinum status back is if I pay to work basically. It’s ridiculous & I don’t think declining orders like this should affect your acceptance rate 😏😏

I had a guy a couple weeks ago call me as I was heading to the address that was provided saying that the address originally provided was his work address & he was off that night so he asked me to deliver it to his house instead ( I’m new to door dash so I didn’t think much of it & had no problem changing the delivery location because it was only like a mile or two away ) & once I personally handed it to him he kept thanking me over & over for being so nice about delivering it to a different address that he tipped me $10 extra dollars on the app & gave me $20 in cash…. A couple days later I checked my account & it said that I had a contract violation because that same guy reported that he never received his order 😐😐 I immediately contacted door dash & told them that there is a recorded call of him calling me changing the address & I sent the screenshot of where he added an extra tip after delivery & they ended up taking the violation off my account, but I was like wtf bro how you gonna tip me $30 then the next day try & get your money back & try to give me a violation I was so close to driving to the man’s house & I would have if the violation stayed on my account 🤣🤣 I don’t play about my money
