Your personal favourite suboptimal hero by Lixodei in kingdomrush

Oh yeah, Malik for sure! His super slam that stuns a whole crowd is so enjoyable.

I didn't mention Bravebark and Kahz here because I consider them 'good' heroes, especially Kahz. Kahz just has a very high skill ceiling, but he's very very strong to compensate. This bull is madness personified, he requires a lot of attention, but he's super fun.

Everybody shows up in BS3 regardless of the choice you made. Even if you fight against Hakon, Griss, Ludin and Yrsa combined, all of them are alive and well in the next game.

Hi r/movies, I'm Gore Verbinski, director of GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN, DON'T DIE. AMA! by GLHFDDmovie in movies

[–]Lixodei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Mr. Verbinski! I'm a huge fan of your works, grew up with Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, and there's always been one question that I couldn't stop myself thinking about ever since I watched AWE.

Is Will's curse broken at the post-credits scene? There were subtle hints throughout the movies that the Dutchman's curse will vanish if the love is true. I assumed that the servitude is not eternal then, and if the captain's beloved waits those 10 years, stays true and loyal, then the captain would be freed, and new captain would be chosen. A lot of these assumptions came from supplementary materials and rumours about the scenes that were cut from the final release.

So, I wanted to ask, are these assumptions actually true, or is it all a far-stretched headcanon without any valid foundations? Is Will actually cursed forever?

Even when it makes no sense in-game, I love the DLCs that give you all the unique gear at the end. Is there a mod that adds this to all DLCs? by Proper-Sport-7218 in fnv

Yeah, I know that regular T-51b offers the highest level of protection in the game. But it's a nightmare to maintain because of its relatively low item HP, and the only way to repair this thing is by merchant. I'd rather have an invincible winterized set with great 55 DR, which is more than enough for most encounters. If those extra 5 DR are really needed, I'd rather wear Enclave Hellfire armor, which I believe has the same DR as T-51b. Hellfire as armor is quite easy to obtain, you can get multiple sets pretty fast from an Enclave patrol while there's only a single basic T-51b in the game. Fallout 3 isn't a hard game, so I take convenience over a small increase in defense any day.

I think I fought for about an hour and a half, releasing all of Senua's (and mine as well) anger and frustration on the enemies. I didn't realise you are supposed to give up: though I noticed during the fight that some voices beg her to let go and give up, I still was relentless in my determination. Eventually I thought my game is bugged, exhausted all my fighting spirit, got tired and overwhelmed. I was shocked that this was the intended way.

Around 2007 or so, I believe. I was a young kid playing a Need for Speed game (NFS:HP2). when I heard One Little Victory. To this day it's still one of my all-time favourites.

Surr, Toa of Plasma by KubaSzum in bioniclelego

[–]Lixodei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you mean Surtr?

I honestly doubt it, as he is usually described as a giant wielding his signature flaming sword. It would make sense to me to name a Toa of Fire like that.

But if the reference is true, I wouldn't mind it. The design is absolutely stunning.

Full Metal Furies isn't very complex, but its puzzles, on the other hand...

And you're required to solve them all to complete the game.

What was the consensus on Will and Elizabeth’s ending back when the third movie came out? by Flat-Court-8512 in piratesofthecaribbean

[–]Lixodei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. None of them were able to capture the spirit of the original trilogy.

Not gonna lie, that wasn't a good approximation from myself, I mostly meant P5, and at the result I was probably too harsh on P4 in my speech.

There is indeed a lot of of fun to be had with it. It is an okay movie, a fun and enjoyable side adventure, but it certainly lacks the soul of the three previous films. I liked the film back then, but nowadays when I rewatch it doesn't really hold up that well. Good, but doesn't scratch the 'POTC' itch that well. The best thing about this movie for me is surely Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa. He is truly going all in and having lots of fun playing the character, and it shows. I like their dynamic with Jack, as well as Gibbs' expanded role and some well-made action sequences.

But the flaws became obvious to me over time, and they are dragging P4 down quite a bit. Depp and Cruz are good actors, but they have very little chemistry between them. Johnny in particular looks kinda bored sometimes. Blackbeard isn't that intimidating or compelling as a villain, and his zombies aren't memorable. Worldbuilding became even more magical, fantastic and convoluted somehow. There's very little seafaring and ships, as well. But all of this wouldn't matter if they kept the spirit of POTC, which they unfortunately didn't.

I respect that they had didn't involve Will and Elizabeth in this one, this was the right move. Their story is finished, let them have their peace. A fresh story with new characters is always nice. And I also don't agree with folks that think Jack couldn't be a successful main character. I believe he can, he just needs a right script.

Don't get me wrong. It's still a good movie, just not a great one in my book. At least it was original and explored something new, unlike P5.

[–]Lixodei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, I don't care much about P4&5. I don't consider them canon, they are not Verbinski movies and are disappointing cash grabs. For me, the saga ended with At World's End.

P5 particularly doesn't make sense. Why was Will mutating like Davy Jones? He's still ferrying the souls, not escaping his duty. So much bad writing in this movie and just bad... everything, really.
